Prospect Info: Draft 2025 Habs you're on the clock

Would love to see him in our organization for 2-3 years... His athleticism and strength are big assets, but even bigger I'd his coachability & desire to get better.... With that nasty streak in him, he could turn into a Shea Weber type.
Definitely a target if we wish to be a bigger and tougher team.

Hell yeah buddy

At the NHL level, if this guy ends up out of position let alone sprawled on the ice after a big hit, that won't go over with the coach, let alone Marty. Personally I love a hitter like that but we have seen Emelin and Xhekal fall out of favour with that style. Romanov managed it better.

It would be fun to have a full draft probability round by round for the Habs. Does anyone know that draft year on their hand?

Bob Mackenzie usually has a pretty good pulse on draft rankings. I personally think both picks will get traded, following Hughes' comment on overpaying to get what we want. I dont know if that means an established player, a prospect or a pick. I personally would like to see Desnoyers getting picked up by the habs, using those two picks to get there. Otherwise, I dont know lakovic or spence, but Carbonneau and Bear seem promising enough.

The very first hit in this video is particularly oof.

If the player he hits doesn't fumble the puck and connects the pass it would've ended up in a breakaway. Beautiful hit bit horrible play.

Ying and Yang. Good and bad.

Lol. Yeah for that kid it's all about maximum impact and to heck with what happens after. You can't teach that kind of ferocitybut hopefully he knows when and where, and how

You can't teach that kind of ferocity, but can you harness it?

MSL seems to have a problem with that not being harnessed when it comes to A. Xhekaj. We'll also need to gauge that with F. Xhekaj...

I'm getting overly onboard the Aitchenson train like a lot of us but between us wanting him and a guy like Cam Robinson saying he's his favorite prospect this year, one's gotta think he's gone by our picks

If he's there at 16, you take him without even over thinking what your LD situation will be in three years and if that forces us to move 2/3 of Struble/Xekhaj/Engstrom because he's surpassed them, so he it.

As per the athletic
According to their projection, the Canadiens would acquire Everett Silvertips forward Carter Bear with the 16th pick, then select Moose Jaw Warriors forward Lynden Lakovic at 17th overall.

I liked what I saw out of Murtagh this year and think he'd be a logical pick for us in the event he slides to R2. One of the youngest guys in the draft.

Most glaring risk is that he has somewhat heavy boots and will need to put time in on the Alex Tuch program.

Murtagh plays the game Lakovic should. I would love to add Murtagh.

Just something I was thinking about.

The habs drafted a lot from Europe in the last few years, we’re out here talking about Lakovic, Spence, Aitcheson, Nesbitt. But maybe they could surprise us and go with someone like Milton Gastrin.

6’1 left handed center. I thought he looked good at the U18.

2nd round possibility

Aitcheson + a forward like Carbonneau OR Cootes OR Nesbitt would be nice.

I just hope Hughes won’t trade his two first picks for a centerman like Newhook or Dach.
Take a hard pass on Nesbit. The last thing we need is another oversized center with slow feet who we hope develops NHL speed. He’s slower than Florian.

I would be shocked if one or both of those picks won’t be in play for a roster player.

They will be in play obviously, but I think it might be hard for Hughes to get what he is looking for. I think he will be looking for someone who fits into our core and also fits our timeline... he has indicated he won't settle and I hope he sticks with that plan. I'm expecting him to be making those picks... but often wrong!! ;)
