Prospect Info: Draft 2025 Habs your on the clock

Penguins may get the NYR 1st at 12ov. Would you guys be interested in 12+62 (Washington's 2nd) for 16+41 (Penguins 2nd back)?

Habs did it last year 26 to 21 before knowing who was there so it's a possibility.

I'd rather have Blues or Jets '26 2nd instead of the Caps '25 as the Habs have 3x 3rd in '25 already.

if we're picking between Aitcheson/Lakovic/Carbonneau/Spence we're gonna end up with a 2 good prospects, Lakovic/Carbonneau are hit or miss types but both have high upside

would be happy if we targeted Potter too somewhere around late 1st if he's still around, if for some reason McQueen drops to the teens i think you gotta consider moving up for him (as long as he clears all the medical stuff)

it's definitely possible that McQueen drops a ton after what happened with Lindstrom this season

They do have the 11ov as well. As was being discussed, the 16th OV may entice the TBL to move Howard. Both moves are very "Dubas-esque" at the moment.
Gorton seems to like to move up. If there's a deal out there to be able to move up, I trust him to find it.

Hughes literally mentioned that Chicago wanted a pick around that high for Dach and Romanov was who would be able to garner that pick. The GM himself said the very reason for acquiring the pick was to acquire Dach, hence why both trades were announced back to back.
Maybe. Other reports say we were targeting Ostlund and didn’t think he was going to be there, and we didn’t want to wait to see and miss the deal with Chicago.

PLD was also clearly being discussed around the same time as he showed up to the draft in Montreal wearing a suit and stormed out when the Dach trade was announced, he thought he was getting traded to Montreal that night.

Point is we were probably moving Romanov for a 1st no matter what, with the war in Russia and the incoming LHD, Hughes decided they didn’t need him.

I don’t care about Nazar because he wouldn’t have been my pick or the Habs pick so he’s pointless to discuss.

It’s really Dach vs Romanov vs Ostlund vs PLD

I still think Lakovic is off the table for character concerns

He was once suspended indefinitely with a bunch of other players on his team for a hush hush off ice incident

Too close to the team Canada incident for my liking, don’t want him, he’s one of the guys I hope gets drafted before our picks so someone we actually want falls to us

After taking one of the hardest-working players in the draft in Martin with their first pick, the Flyers take another one of the hardest-working players in the draft in Spence, who fits their identity and projects as an up-and-down-the-lineup, honest, pro-style top-nine winger.

Spence! hard working guy....

I don't understand preferring a C, RD or someone with size or grit... No matter who we draft they won't be playing for the team for at least 2 years, which is an eternity when it comes to roster composition.

DRAFT BPA!!!

DRAFT BPA!!!

You should be drafting for the identity of your team. The further you get from the top, the more you are away from there being a clear BPA.

Also the fact that the core is and will be signed long term, the same requirements to supplement them will be around for awhile.

You should still draft BPA (as far as you can tell BPA), so that trades are easier. The chance that any draft pick at this point contributes to a Suzuki-led team is decreasing fast with the years. These picks, if made, will likely be traded to improve the team down the road.

they need to draft a centre. more centres in the system. more chance of getting one that works out

They'll use at least one. Hard to imagine they'd be able to pull off two trades of such magnitude that the firsts are part of both. I think they'd also like to have another potential ELC contributor in a few years.
Yeah, I'd rather Montreal not exit the rebuild with Hage as their best and only high tier forward prospect.

If pick 1-15 goes the way Wheeler says, I'd definitely go for Bear first.

After that, Hensler, Spence, Nesbitt, Gastrin or take a risk with Ryabkin if the interview goes well.
