Anyways... it's only Wednesday.

Carbonneau gives me major Sprong vibes, I’d rather not do that again.

Hows his hockey IQ? Sprong imo would not have been an NHL top six player even if he had the words greatest attitude because he couldn't process the game at NHL speeds.

I love his profile but when I see it in action it seems evident that he needs a TON of work to be a top 4 defenseman in the NHL. But maybe he gets there? I'm not gonna cry if they pick him, but defensemen who aren't huge and not miraculous skaters trying to play linebacker every shift is a bad recipe in the NHL

I think another big difference between Carbonneau and Sprong is that Carbonneau is a lot more physical, he's not quite a "power forward" but he uses his size and plays a hell of a lot heavier than Sprong does. The two look similar carrying the puck and both have absolutely lethal wrist shots, but Carbonneau has a much bigger frame that he absolutely uses.

His size/skating reminds me a lot of Martone, but just not as skilled as Martone.

I don't have a good player comparison for Carbonneau, he's a super skilled sniper that plays a very heavy style and there aren't a ton of those in the NHL. It's not like Neal where he's a great triggerman with size and physicality, Carbonneau plays like a power forward. Maybe if you made Alex Tuch a sniper?

At least IMO, but if you want to go with a skilled winger with size, I'd easily go Carbonneau over Lakovic.

I wasn't even really aware of him prior to the GPT mock. I feel like this is probably an instance of a poor algorithm. Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not he is deserving of a top 15 spot?

If we are to take a rearguard and that certainly isn't my preference, but out of the three often mentioned I do hope it's Mrtka IF we go that route. Gastrin would be a huge reach.
