Prospect Info: Draft 2025 - Everyone is trading up, but no one seems to be trading down edition

Martin, EK and JOB are likely gone before we pick unless we move up. They are the bees knees relative to our position.

Reschny (in particular), Bear and Carbonneau would be solid picks.

I just like the Flyers wasting assets to trade up to draft a guy that shouldn't even be going top-10 in an actual draft.

This seems like a really, really dumb draft to trade up in unless the opportunity basically falls into your lap.

Going into the process with that as the stated plan seems like a good way to pooch this draft.

The first good decision Barry makes in his tenure will be picking Hagens

Yeah I think that's what makes the most sense, I just don't know that Trotz won't be a dumbass.

The top-10 falls in really nicely if Trotz isn't an idiot. Hagens at #5, Desnoyers at #6, O'Brien at #7, Martin at #8 and Mrtka at #9 makes a lot of sense based on team needs.

Interesting question though, if Desnoyers is available at #8, do you trade up to get him?

Right but depending who falls the quality of 12 and 20 is probably about the same.
If it falls the wrong way you could get screwed. We can't afford for that to happen.

If this was 2007 and we already had our young core here, sure! But we're just starting the process of accruing high end talent (relatively speaking).

You mentioned Bear, Reschny, and Carbonneau. With three picks in that area you could get all three. That’s a realistic scenario given where I’m seeing them mocked.

I guess you could get two of them for sure drafting them a little higher and keeping the picks.

If they somehow get 3 1sts, I would prefer to take one C, one W and one D. The issue is that none of the centers after the top-10 are all that appealing, they're either super undersized or not very productive.

One of Eklund or Carbonneau as the winger, one of Mrtka, Smith, Aitcheson or Boumedienne as the defenseman and one of Reschny or Kindel as the centers. I think Eklund/Carbonneau, Reschny and Boumedienne would be the most realistic one I'd get behind.

Sorry. This place is too full of whining and I won’t add to it.

I can only offer you a Curb gif as @Big Friggin Dummy knows well.

Bro if we get three first rounders we better pick Aitcheson, Mrtka AND Smith.

I'm just as apprehensive on Bear for his injury as I am on McQueen.
If Bear wasn't injured he'd be a top 8 pick. Also his progression from his previous season to this one was very impressive. That wasn't the case for McQueen. There was no appreciable improvement in his offensive production. Beyond that a Back issue is far more concerning than Bears injury.

I wanna see @Michael Farkas rankings

For everyone else it’s a list of who they like. For him it’s who does he hate the least
Haha I didn't start looking at this draft till late because I was working on other projects. So I don't have a true list. I looked at 40 "names of interest" and scouted/ranked them just so I have something to root for (or against) at 11 or 12.

So it's not a ranking, it's just how I view 40 oft-discussed names. I don't think that's very appealing. But I do hate most of these players haha...if you want that half-assed "list", I'd share it with you guys I guess...

I think Jfresh posted his "f*** it, here we go" mock draft and it had Martone at 10 and Hagens at 11. If Martone and Hagens are both sitting there at 10th, I'm throwing rotten tomatoes at Dubas for the rest of his career if he doesn't trade up a spot to snag both of 'em.
