Its insane to draft players like that in the 1st, let alone top 15. Half the damn higlights of him is fighting, which is almost extinct and wouldnt surprise me if its gone all togheter in a few years.

So you are ready to write off the 12th overall pick this year but declaring whoever is sitting there at probably 20+ next year as good?

I would swap them knowing ahead next years pick would be in the 20’s. I just don’t see anything out of who will be available at 12 this year that gets me excited. I don’t know what it will look like next year but I’d take my chances.

I've talked about Aitcheson so much already, but I'll say it again, I clearly see the appeal with Aitcheson and he can be a really unique kind of player if he can pan out. The physicality plus offense combination he could offer would be extremely valuable as a middle pair guy, I'm just concerned about the downside with him. It's not even "he can be a bust", it's also wondering if he can be a bad player in the NHL but continues to play simply because of his physicality. Same situation as Jack Johnson.

He's not the guy I'm hoping they draft because I am scared of his downside, but I won't be mad if they draft him because I clearly see the appeal with him. They just better be right with him if they take him.

He's also in the 90th percentile for controlled zone entries, for both forwards and defence in the entire league, so while his scoring might not translate, there is a strong possibility that his transition game will.

He’s a d who’s not good defensively nor is he a one man break out. Doesn’t have good skating annd is filled out. Mid playmaking ability. He can shoot and mix it up after the whistle. Not even a massive guy.

I will not throw a tantrum and cheer for him if we do take him, but he is the only guy I’m calling a bad pick day 1, consensus rankings be damned.
