I’m taking Smith. I know people will hate it (I don’t love it) but the dude has a ton of upside and the skating/size and willingness to be physical is good enough where his floor is high. He’ll play 300+ games even if he “busts”

I don’t hate Smith as much now that he’s going to college. I just couldn’t stomach another dub defenseman that high.

Martin Martone and Hagens the top 10 wildcards imo (in terms of delta in draft slot from McKenzie rankings)

Lakovic Eklund and the D are the wild cards for the 10-20 range. All 5 have a chance to go top 10. All 5 have a chance to go in the teens IMO. Could see Cootes going high too.

Should be a wild draft.

IMO McKenzie's rankings were fairly similar to my mock draft, just with Martone and Martin flipped. My mock top-15 was:

With those McKenzie rankings, really add I'd change would be swapping Martone and Martin (so Martone at #4 and Martin at #8) and maybe reconsider Carbonneau at #13. Otherwise, I'd stick with what my mock was.
