Prospect Info: Down On The Farm (Ads and Glads)

So I guess because of the extra travel distances, this series is the 2-3 split format, starting on the road in Texas, then 3 games at home.

I think I like this kid. Trotz will probably lose him on waivers or trade him for a 34 year old bottom 6 winger.

:pullhair: This is actually my kids, apart from the accent.

Dammit, I just paid tens of thousands of dollars for you to step on that ice sheet, and that's what's going through your head????!?!!??! Yes, yes it is.

Ads give up a goal with 4 seconds left in the first...

Edit. Not happening tonight. 4-1 Texas in the third

Only good thing about starting on the road, they only need one of these 2 games to be in good shape

The Ads didn't not get any favors from the refs or linesmen tonight.

Milwaukee started out the game up 9-5 in SOGs. The Stars scored, and Cal O'Reilly (2) tied the game from a puck off of the end wall. The PPG assists went to Friedman (2) and Kemell (3). It was 1 of the 2 PPs for the Admirals in the game.

The Ads were called for 3 penalties in 2 minutes. The last one was on Cal O'Reilly for Throwing Equipment when his stick was broken. He tossed the stick into the Neutral Zone for safety reasons. That penalty is supposed to be called if you impeded or attempted to impede another player from the ice or the bench. Cal did neither! The almost 3 minutes of 5-on-3 shifted the momentum in the game. The Admirals NEVER got another SOG in Period 1. Texas scored off a late face-off to make it 2-1.

Texas added a third goal. in Period 2 on a PP, 1 of 5 for them. Milwaukee hit the post twice.

The Stars 4th goal in Period 3 was scored by a player who was 10 feet Offside. Somehow, four sets of eyes missed that one. Friedman scored a goal for Milwaukee to make in 4-2 at 9:47. Ottenbreit (1) and Ylonen (1) had the assists.

Matt Murray had 24 saves and Magnus Hellberg had 23 saves.

The Admirals played better than the two losses to Rockford. They need to cut down on the mistakes and try to take fewer penalties. You really can't do much when the refs totally mis-interpret the rules!

The next game is on Sunday at 7 PM.

The are playing at Texas. It was 88 F in Cedar Park Texas today. It is Murray versus Hellberg.

The Ads are leading in SOG 7-3 with 3:34 to go. Livingstone is in the lineup tonight. Statsney and Ufko are paired, Gravel and Livingstone, Friedman and Del Gaizo is the other pair.

Captain Derek McKenzie is playing his usual DIRTY game. He just punched Marino in the face during a TO.

With 1:30 to go, the SOG are 10-3 Admirals. Ylonen scores from the left circle on a one timer! The assist goes to Gravel (1).

McKenzie takes a dive to draw a penalty. The Stars have a reputation for DIVING. No replay.
Murray for Tripping? Denisenko serves it. Ads called for Offside and Lucchini gets popped by Hryckowian. More DIRTY play by Texas! They both get 2 for Roughing at 18:52. SOG 11-3.

If the refs call penalties, Texas will lose! Half of the Stars team was on the ice to surround the refs. They have whined about EVERY call so far. That is a very loser thing to do!

Period 2 starts with 52 seconds of Texas PP. The Ads killed it. Svechkov got 2 minutes for Hooking. Lucchini is out of the box. Svechkov has 16 seconds to serve. The Ads killed that one too.

Bellows called for Slashing when he had the puck for 3 seconds. The Texas Dman complained to the ref. WTH is calling the penalties on the ice? Texas scores off the blocker with a tap in a 4:56. Peterson from Texas went down. He may have gotten hit with a stick on a follow through. The scoreboard said a PP for Texas. No penalty was called. What gives with that scoreboard??? There is 14:02 remaining. SOG Texas 7-4. Texas scores again over the glove at 7:55 to make it 2-1 Stars.

The Stars are called for Interference. Svech takes the draw. The Ads win, but the puck went out of the zone. Bellows is out with Weisblatt and O'Reilly and Lucchini. Kemell is out with Friedman, Lucchini and O'Reilly and Weisblatt. The Ads got 1 SOG for the PP. They need more than that to get back in the game!
With 6:14 remaining, the SOG are 8-6 Texas. Aaron Sims just called Ottenbreit's name, meaning that the Ads are playing 7 Dmen. McKenzie chopped Gravel's stick out of his hands on an icing call. No additional call for that.

Kemell (2) scores over Hellberg's shoulder at 14:38! De Leo (1) shot, then Lucchini (3) passed the puck from behind the net to Kemell. The next play has 2 Admirals knocked down behind the Stars net with no calls. Murray stops a breakaway by Kole Lind. SOG 10-9 Ads and 21-12 Ads overall. Lucchini drives to the net but does not score. The Ads keep the pressure on. Gravel hit the left post!

Denisenko grabbed by Taylor. Denisenko gets called for Slashing. WTH? The Texas PP starts with 1:27 remaining. The Ads have to KILL this penalty to maintain the 2-2 tie! The Stars pressure but the period ends. SOG 12-9 Ads, and 23-12 Ads overall.

In Period 3, De Leo (2) taps in the puck to make it 3-2 Admirals at 3:33. McKenzie is arguing with the refs, as always, but the goal counts. Assists to Kemell (4) and Lucchini (4). SOG are 3-1 Ads. The Admirals score again at 5:24. It was Ylonen (3). The assists went to Weisblatt (5) and Statsney (2) to make it 4-2. Friedman gets hammered by Hryckowian. He gets 2 for Boarding at 6:25. McKenzie comes over to chirp at Friedman! McKenzie is a total POS!!!

Ads on the PP. Texas kills the PP with no SOG by Milwaukee. There is 10:46 to play. Now 9:28 to go after Murray jumps on the puck. Ottenbreit just hit the ice by a ref, so there is a time out. That happened after Murray's save. Kole Lind chopped Ottenbreit, who was helped off of the ice. No Call for that blatant foul by Texas! MORE DIRTY PLAY by the Stars!!!

At 12:08, it was Bellows (4) to Lucchini (1) for goal #5!!! The other assist went to Ufko (3). The crowd has gone silent. Now Ozzy Weisblatt (2) scores unassisted to make it 6-2 Admirals. That is 6 goals on 29 shots. Texas scores 18 seconds later. It was the DIRTY Kole Lind making it 6-3. His ass should have been tossed for intentionally injuring Ottenbreit. (I hope that the AHL suspends Lind for what he did to Ottenbreit.) Friedman and McKenzie are shoving each other in front of Murray. What a surprise.

Hellberg is on the bench with 5:18 to play. Kole Lind, scores again off a blocked shot to make it 6-4 on a dribbler past Murray. That is 4 goals in the last 2:32 in this game. There is 5:14 to go. The Ads take their time out. With 4:42 minutes to go, Hellberg is pulled again. The Ads have scored 4 goals on 6 shots in this period,

Now, there is 4:21 to go. Bellows was tripped and no call, Denisenko was Tripped before he could score a ENG. That one was called by the refs! SOG 29-19 Ads. Hellberg is back in the net. Now 2:30 to go with a 1:21 left in the PP for Milwaukee. There is 1:57 to go. Now 90 seconds left with 18 seconds in the PP. Milwaukee ices the puck! The Stars are good at face-offs. Texas takes their TO. Hellberg goes to the bench again. Lucchini wins the face-off and the whistle blows. Lucchini wins the face-off again. Murray makes a save with 53 seconds to go. O'Reilly takes the face-off. Ylonen shoots and the puck is blocked away. That would have been a Hatter for him. Hellberg comes back with 23 seconds to play. Friedman and Stastney on defense. The Ads play the puck to center with 9 seconds remaining and the horn sounds.

It has been since 2006 that the Admirals last won a road game for Game 2 in the playoffs. Pekke Rinne was in goal and the Admirals scored 2 SHG, one by Tootoo.

The Admirals win 6-4 by scoring 4 goals in Period 3 and five consecutive goals versus Texas!

Jesse Ylonen was the #1 Star with 2 G and Jake Lucchini was #3 with 1G and 2A.

The series is tied 1-1 with Games 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Friday in Milwaukee, both at 7 PM CDT.

Ah, my apologies, probably a combination of all three then. Most likely, still leaning more toward Nichol and the pro-scouts finding what they wanted for the Ads and Trotz making the deals with other GMs.

I think Nichol was pretty aggressive in patching holes for the Ads this season. In terms of mid-season moves. I'm not sure about the off-season ones like Lucchini, Bellows, Hinostroza, Murray... those were probably a bigger team effort including Trotz to consciously bolster the Milwaukee lineup in advance of the season.

But the mid-season tweaks that brought in Ylonen, Denisenko, Friedman, Rolston, De Leo... I think those were great. They were really active. Ivan, Reedy, Bjork were others, they didn't all pan out perfectly. But there was obviously a very conscious effort to bolster the lineup after injuries and promotions changed the outlook. Trotz probably had to rubber-stamp at least. Or send the word around to his brethren GMs. Based on Nichols' requests, if not his specific player identification targets? :dunno:

It's great, because a lot of teams I think would just shrug and say, well, that's a farm team, that's the way the cookie crumbles, if we lost players to injury/recall/waivers it's just what happens, and many teams wouldn't have been so active in patching the holes.

It's almost like Trotz "serial winners" concept works with a competent coach or something....

Game 3 of Milwaukee versus the Texas Stars. The series is tied 1-1.

I see 22 of the 32 Admirals on the ice. Chrona and Murray are dressed. Rolston is on the ice, as are Cole O'Hara and Chad Nychuk. Rolston skated very little and not fast. I will guess that he has a muscle injury.

Bellows and Weisblatt have 7 points. Kemell has 6; Svechkov, Del Gaizo and Lucchini have 5 each; Ylonen has 4. A bunch have 3 points.

In goal for Texas is Remi Poirier! Not Hellberg. For Milwaukee, it will be Murray, Gravel and Ufko; Bellows, Svechkov and Denisenko up front.

The Ads win the face-off and pull the stanchion play. Poirier barely saved the puck at 7 seconds! Ads deflect the puck high over the net. Marino with 2 big hits on #4, Luke Krys. Now Ozzy hits #4 while Mutter nails the guy he passed to. The Ads jam the net and Poirier loses his stick.

Texas scores at 3:45 on a screen shot from the left circle. Rolston was tripped, so he is playing. Kemell steals a pass and Poirier gives up a big rebound into the slot. At 6 minutes, the SOG are 5-1 Texas, but the play has been even. O'Reilly's stick was broken on a face-off and he yelled at the ref! Livingstone is on with Statsney. Marino knocks down #4 in the Neutral Zone. Mutter just flattened somebody. #16 with a very late check on Mutter! Bellows with a reverse hit on #8, White. Bellows got some nose! The Ads with a shot from the point after missing a pass in the low shot. Ozzy cross-checked down in front of ref #41 and No Call. Texas turns over the puck in their zone and Denisenko goes low. He should have gone high for a lot of open net! With 5:55 remaining the SOG are 9-4 Texas. Capabianco gives Denisenko a face wash for no reason. Rolston hooked down and NO Call. With 1:51 remaining, SOG 10-7 Texas. The Ads are getting more zone time.

Three Ads pound #20 into the end boards after he hacked Murray! Ozzy misses a tap in at 40 seconds. Lucchini misses a half open net. Pettersen, #20, gets hammered into the boards near his bench! SOG are 12-8 Texas Stars. The Ads played the last 5 minutes very well. They did everything except score a goal. Poirier does not look that good in net. The Ads could have 2 or 3 so far. They need one more pass or a snipe!

The Ads were swarming before a hand pass in Period 2. After 2 minutes, each team has 1 SOG. IT looks like Texas is getting 2 minors! One for Hooking, one for Holding. One called by each ref. Ads get 1 SOG after 29 seconds. They need better passes! Just 36 seconds for the 5-on-3. SOG are 14-13 Texas. Gravel just knocked down Pettersen. The SOG are 14 each with 13:16 remaining. McKenzie complaining to ref #41. I don't know why!

Kemell tripped to take possession of the puck in the Ads zone! No call, but lots of boos by the crowd. That was BS. Too Many Men and McKenzie is TOLD to go back to his bench by ref #41! Still 31 minutes left in the game. Ads with zero SOG on the PP. That is killing them in this game! They need a goal to put the Stars on their heels.

Murray stones a sure goal. Texas scores from the bottom of the left circle 1 minute later to make it 2-0 Stars. The Stars keep getting open shots against Murray. With 5:52 remaining, the SOG are 22-17 Stars.

Ads win a face-off, #17 cross-checked Ozzy and No Call. Ozzy mixing it up with #18 after an Icing call. The Ads can't get SOG!
Murray stops a breakaway after both Dmen goof up on the play. #17 gets hit hard and Marino goes to the box for Charging. There is 1:42 remaining with SOG 23-21 Texas. No replay, but it was a loud Boom from the other end of the ice. Texas is stalling? Karl Taylor is yelling at the refs! Ozzy hits #27, Jack Becker, half a second before the horn. He doesn't like it! Becker says something and a second Admiral bumps him.

Period 3 begins with 18 seconds of carry over on the Marino penalty. Ads kill the penalty. Both teams change. The puck trickles through the Texas crease.

McKenzie mugged Ozzy at the other end and paid for it! No calls. #21 swipes at Mutter after a whistle. The Linesman got there fast. Stastney scores on his own rebound!!! Assists to Bellows and Ozzy with 13:54 left. The Ads were swarming, then Texas scores a minute later to make it 3-1. Texas scores on a deflection from 5 feet 35 seconds later. Texas scores on a 2-on-1 with 10:28 remaining to make it 5-1. Chrona comes in to play.

Kemell is dumped by #37, then Lucchini slashes #37 on the leg, since there was No Call again. I don't think that the Admirals have liked the officiating in this period!

I and a bunch of fans left with 5 minutes to go. They were loud for maybe 3500 people. They had little to cheer about tonight. Marino was called for High Sticking. The Stars scored their first PPG of the game to make it 6-1.

The Stars scored 4 goals on 10 shots in the period. The Ads seemed to be out of position on offense AND defense most of the game. Karl Taylor will need to look at those issues before Friday's game. Murray was hung out to dry too many times! Without some of his big saves, Texas scores 10 in this game.

It is win or go home, again! The Admirals are 16-4 in elimination games under Karl Taylor. That is an amazing record!

Texas did to us in the 3rd what Dallas did to Edmonton I guess. :(

This isn't going to be the same kind of "easy" reverse-sweep like the last series, I fear. I thought the Texas D looked very suspect on paper... but they seemed to hold up ok despite being a real dog's breakfast aside from Capobianco? :dunno: Now if they are getting the goaltending from Poirier that they weren't from Hellberg, it's going to be rough... because their forward group is actually very very strong IMO.

I hope Taylor has his Elimination Game Magic ready again... but that was a gut punch loss to a good team.

Game 4 at 7 PM against Texas.

The Admirals must win tonight!

To do that, they have to get off to a good start.

I counted 23 Ads players on the ice.

The refs are Beau Halkidis (#48), who doesn't like the Admirals; and Liam Maaskant (#45), who I don't remember ever seeing him previously.

Poirier is in goal again. He gave up rebounds and showed a lot of open net in Game 3. Let's hope that he repeats those!

The starters were Murray with LD Stastney with Friedman. At LW Bellows, at C Svechkov with Kemell.

Texas scores at 29 seconds. Nobody went to the puck carrier or made him change direction! What kind of defense is that? Del Gaizo goes on offense to try and score. Ads called for Too Many Men. It was a good call. The Ads called for Icing when Kemell got to the dot first! Livingstone could not put the puck in the net!

#4 punches Mutter in the ribs after the whistle in front of the Stars bench. Mutter gets 4 minutes for Roughing, Marino 2 minutes. McKenzie and Krys (#4) get 2 minutes for Roughing. It could have been the other way with 4 minutes on Krys, who went after Mutter instead of going to the box! The Ads have killed both penalties.

Del Gaizo just savaged a Star in Murray's crease! It was like a chin lock followed by bending him over backwards. Stars played the puck with a high stick and NO Call. It was 3 feet above the shoulder! Marino pounds Becker on end boards in front of me! With 3:23 remaining the SOG are 5 each.

Linesman Shawn Oliver (#56) was going to call Icing on the Ads on a lead pass. What an IDIOT! It wasn't even close to Icing!!! The puck needed to travel 70 more feet. Taylor gave up the puck when he saw Ozzy coming to the SE corner!

Bellows is saying something to ref #48. He looks unhappy. Now Livingstone says something to the same ref after the horn. That was Halkidis! SOG 9-6 Texas.

Period 3 begins with I don't know what call. I thought the Ads were Offside, but the face-off was held on the center dot. Curious. Ottenbreit is out with Gravel. Mutter just destroyed somebody in the Neutral Zone. The guy was slow to get up. Now another face-off at the center dot. I do not know why! Bellows was Hooked as he tried to go back to the bench.

Krys called for Interference by the Texas net. I thought the Ads were going to score. They had 4 guys rushing the net and could not connect on a pass. The Ads were all over the crease area and could not score as the penalty expired. SOG 9-9 with 13:30 left. Oliver with a phony delayed Offside on Milwaukee. I swear he doesn't know the Offside rules!!! Cal was being held so he could not get to the bench. Bellows said something to Oliver when he came on. Livingstone is with Del Gaizo, who was mixing it up with McKenzie at the top of the Ads crease.

#17, Lind, takes a DIVE at the Ads Blue Line. De Leo gets a minor for High Sticking. Guess who comes back on the ice for the PP? Yes, it is the injured Lind! Faker!!!

Ads close to a shorty! The Ads killed it again. SOG are 10 each with 7:42 remaining. Krys running his mouth at Mutter after the whistle while the linesmen holds Mutter. Pettersen gave Livingstone an elbow in the SE corner. No Call. Friedman runs into the Ads goal. Gravel comes on for him.

A Linesman just grabbed Poirier after the whistle at the other end. I don't know why. One Admiral with 5 Stars standing there, it seems very odd.

Bellows dumped by #18. Bellows cross-checked him and got tripped by #18. No Calls. #12(?) just slashed the Linesman!!! WTH? Ozzy is sat on in the O-zone. These MORONS called Offside instead if a penalty on Texas!!! Unbelievable! SOG 5-5.

The third Period begins with 5 large ruts in the crease of the soutĥ goal. It should be fixed, but I would bet $20 that it won't be! Maybe Poirier will fall down? It was not fixed. Texas with the first 2 SOG. Texas with 2 Icings in a row. Pettersen Slashing and Cross-Checking but no calls! #11 holding onto Marino, no call. Marino shrugs him off before heading to the bench. Karon clothes lines Mutter after the whistle and NO CALL. DAMN RIDICULOUS!!! "Ref, you suck" breaks out for 30 loud seconds. Offside on the Ads when 5000 people saw that it was not! Now the fans are booing the Linesman. "Ref, you suck!" breaks out again during a TO. The fans really dislike this crew!!! There is 10:47 remaining. Poirier signals Icing when the puck came from from 2 feet over the Blue Line. What a fool.

De Leo gets his skates yanked out in the left circle and ref #48 makes No Call. "REF, YOU SUCK" goes on for a full minute!!! People are going to be throwing debris on the ice very soon! Refs have a conference. Face-off in the Texas zone. Blumel jabs an Ads player in the face with his stick and NO BLEEPING CALL!!! This is a farce!!!!!!!

Kemell (3) scores from the slot! Assists to Svechkov (3) and now Livingstone (1). Bellows screened the shot. The crowd is very LOUD!

FU Cheating Stars!!! FU BUM REFS!!!
Texas Slashing all over the ice!!! No Calls.

With 4 minutes left, the Admirals have Texas on the run!!!

Blumel threw an elbow at Rolston and missed, but Rolston was laying on the ice from something else. Texas is REALLY DIRTY! Murray was tripped in his crease and NO CALL. That is terrible! The puck was 60 feet away. Are there NO standards in the AHL for officials?

The Stars have tried to Injure Bellows, Rolston and Murray and NEVER were penalized for ANY of that. How???

Overall SOG are 22-18 Texas. We are going to Overtime again in 15 minutes. Now 3 minutes.

OT starts in 2 minutes. The refs are booed!!!

The Ads come out. Texas comes out at 1:30. They have been "late" this game.
The crowd is LOUD!!! "Let's Go Ads!!".

Texas ices the puck. Texas with the first SOG at 18:36. I thought it was game over on De Leo's pass, but the other Admiral could not get a shot off from the slot! Face-off in the Texas end. Ads SOG. Stars packing their goal. #27 and #40 cheapshot each other! Home run pass is called Offside. For once, the Linesman might be correct! Intentional Offside by Texas is not called! Ads with another SOG with 11:36 left. Now another SOG from the bottom of the circle! And another to make it 23-22 Texas. Face-off in the Ads zone with 10:05 to go. Ozzy runs over Capabianco in the Neutral Zone.

De Leo from the slot!!! OMG. It slid from near the Blue Line and into the net!!!!! After the game, my daughter said that Rolston (1) tipped it in front of the goal at 11:12. He was the #1 Star and De Leo (2) got the assist with Livingstone (2). I did not see Rolston at the other end of the ice. Murray was the #2 Star with 23 saves in front of 5100 fans.

Milwaukee dominated the OT 6-1 SOG to make it 24-23 SOG Ads for the game.

We have a Game 5 on Sunday at 6 PM!!!

That was a nice combination play by the two youngsters on that first goal. Svech controls the puck then makes an accurate pass with perfect timing. Kemel gets himself open in a quiet area of the ice then rips a heater top corner. It was the only place to shoot and he sniped it, didn't hit a post, miss the net, or shoot into his own player blocking the goalie.

As a fan you really hope they can carry that over to the NHL.

The Ads sure like living on the edge. Holy shit.
I could stand a little less excitement during their games. Trailing 1-0 for 50+ minutes was a bit much in an elimination game.

Having 3 incompetent on ice officials did not help. Only the one Linesman did a good job. Halkidis was his usual terrible self. The other ref was better.

Oliver should no longer be a Linesman in my opinion. He seemed to make 50% incorrect calls. Rarely do players bark at a Linesman like the Admirals did repeatedly in the game at him.

Game five, to advance, and that's no jive!

I believe that it will be Remi Poirier against Matt Murray in their respective nets.

It looks like a big crowd tonight!

The starters for Milwaukee will be LD Del Gaizo with Livingstone. Up front are LW Bellows with Center Svechkov and Kemell. The big scoring line gets the start!

The Ads called for Icing. Hah. The face-off was moved to the center spot. McKenzie ends up on top of Livingstone. The officials are off to a poor start!

Ozzy stole the puck twice. Gravel and Ufko are out. Mutter runs over #40. Stastney with Livingstone. Two Stars take swipes at Ozzy after the whistle. Ozzy says something to the ref. After 4 minutes, the SOG are 3 each. Texas scores after 5.5 minutes. The Ads defense was over shifted! Murray stops a 2-on-1 at 6:20 to keep it 1-0.

Del Gaizo with a bullet from the left point.
Stars called for Tripping Kemell at their Blue Line at 8 minutes. Linesman #42 does not want to drop the puck. Ads called Offside by #42 when 7000 fans saw it wasn't! Cal hit the far post on a tip in! It should be 1-1.

De Leo scores on a pass from behind the net by Svechkov and Bellows at 9:55, a PPG. Mutter with a big hit, then De Leo against #13!

#42 calls Icing when the puck was still 3 feet from the goal line. He is an incompetent moron!!!!! The Texas player touched the puck 1 foot before the line! The fans are very angry about the Numerous BAD calls in the first 12 minutes by Luke Pye, #42. SOG 8-6 Ads.

Ozzy called for Roughing. No replay. I did not see it, neither did my daughter! The fans are yelling at the officials at 13 minutes.

Murray gets his mask knocked off by McKenzie after a save. NO BLEEPING CALL!!! This is BS officiating! The Ads killed the penalty. I want to know why McKenzie did not get a penalty. #27 with a late hit on Mutter. #27 ended up on his butt. Mutter crushes #27 on the end boards!!! Karma!!!

Poirier makes a save that was not counted as a SOG. McKenzie boards Friedman LATE! With 22 seconds left in the period. He gets 2 minutes it should have been 5 minutes! McKenzie hit him in the base of the neck and drove him 5 feet into boards. People all over the arena were yelling for a 5 minute penalty!

McKenzie won't come out of the penalty box!!! Marino and another Admiral are waiting for him on their side of the ice. McKenzie "The Chicken" comes out after a minute past the horn. This is a DISGRACE to the AHL!!!!!!!! SOG were 8-8.

Period 2 is set to begin. 1:41 of the penalty carries over. Friedman is on the ice and #12 ends up in Murray's crease. There are 22 seconds left in the penalty. Mutter just knocked Lind off his skates! Ads miss an empty net! SOG 4-0 Ads at 4 minutes. McKenzie keeps a few feet away from Murray after a save. Friedman was right behind McKenzie. Ottenbreit gives McKenzie a shot with his stick when play resumes. Svechkov called for High Sticking. I did not see it. My daughter did not see it. Another phantom penalty on the Ads! Texas Offside by 10 feet and no whistle. Del Gaizo flattened a Star! Lind gets his stick up and No Call. Just 5 seconds left on the penalty. Ads stop a possible goal. Good defense.

Texas was Offside, so the Ads get called for Icing? These officials STINK!!!! McKenzie dumps an Admiral to get a breakaway. Murray saves his shot. After the face-off, Svechkov scores at 12:05 at the other end. Kemell and Ottenbreit with the assists. The crowd is on their feet! The Ads lead 2-1.

Kemell run over from behind. No call. "Let's Go Admirals!" from the fans. Petersen tries to check Mutter, big mistake! Ottenbreit crushes #13 in the SW corner! #18 bawling his eyes out to the refs as he points to where Ottenbreit threw his legal check! #2 was holding Lucchini's stick. Texas slashes Ozzy on a 2-on-1 and it WAS called! Just 1:49 left. Ozzy's wrist is injured!!! It was a viscious slash! Perhaps it should have been 4 minutes? Ads with 3 SOG, then miss a wrap around. That should have been a goal. SOG 12-9 Texas, mostly due to the 2 phantom penalties!

The teams came out for Period 3. Texas has 11 seconds to serve. Texas ices the puck and the officials called it.

Poirier did not see the puck coming. The puck hit the crossbar! The play is being reviewed. (I don't think it was an Ads goal.) Ozzy is on the ice, so his wrist isn't broken! Still waiting for the call. No goal after a minute or so. These refs suck. The Ads can't clear the puck and the Stars tie it.

The Ads should have 3 or 4 goals by now! Murray makes the save of the year!!! Nine out of ten NHL goalies don't stop that one! Stars ice it. #18 repeatedly bumps Ufko after the whistle. My daughter said "send out Marino!". Friedman has 2 sticks. I bet a Texas player tried to trip him with it! He tosses it toward the Stars bench. Ads keep sending the puck past the net, 3 or 4 times on one shift.

Bellows knocks down #18 twice! Murray was checked! It was MacKenzie! He gets mugged by 3 Ads players including Murray! No calls! It looked like A Night At The Roxy!!!

Texas ices the puck. Down to 11:45. Texas complaining to the refs again! Ozzy is tripped and No Call. Face-off in the Stars zone. No, no puck drop! Damn #42, Pye!!! McKenzie keeps telling the refs where the face-off should be. They ignore him! Ha, ha!!! Ufko hauled down, no call. Rolston shoots off of Poirier's blocker and out of play with 8:04 to go!

The Ads score! A Texas player kicked the net off. That should be a goal. The play is under review! The review is over in seconds, no goal? How about a penalty on Texas for Intentionally knocking the net off???

WE WAS ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#8 just cross-checked Bellows so he could not play the puck. Icing on the Ads because of the lack of good officiating. The Ads should protest this game, even if they win!!!
Ads called for Icing twice. All of the Ads skaters slam their sticks on the ice!!!!!
The second time was BULLSHIT!!!!!

The Admirals are really angry!!!!!
Texas scores with 5:05 left. Two shots from 5 feet away. The Ads called for Icing? BULLSHIT, MORE POOR OFFICIATING!!!!!

Too Many Men by the Stars, Svechkov getting punched in the face! Neither penalty was called on the Stars!!! BLEEPING REFS!!!
KEMELL TAKES A STICK TO FACE!!! No call.

Murray was pulled. 41 seconds left. TO Ads. Icing again, 35 seconds. 24, now 17 seconds with Icing on Texas again.
Svechkov was pulled down in the Neutral Zone with 7 seconds to go. No call, of course!

The Admirals lose and the season is over!
This was the WORST officiated game that I have seen in the last 35 YEARS!!! That one had a fan riot that stopped the game for 45 minutes. The Bad Old Days!

Head Coach Karl Taylor and team Captain Kevin Gravel did not say a word about that in the post game interviews. Classy guys!

I have to wonder if Aaron Simms is moving on from the radio and TV broadcasts for the Admirals. He was talking about how he got the job in 2005 when his predecessor, Kyle Schultz, died unexpectedly (at a young age).

You have to wonder if an NHL team is going to hire Karl Taylor for next season? He is blocked from Nashville by a bad coach and a bad GM. (My daughter wants to go back to being a Devils fan.) If the Bruins would have made the SC playoffs, I would have watched them, if I could.

Time is running out on the Predators and their streak of being BELOW average. Their inability to do anything about it, is galling.
I was going to go to a game this season, but the Preds were so bad that it wasn't worth our time and money for the 4th most expensive NHL team to see in person. You Preds fans have my sympathy!

I can only hope that next season will be different for Nashville. Even 4th place and losing in the first round of the playoffs would be better than this season was. At least that puts the Preds in the middle of the NHL, rather than the bottom 10%.
