Don't think he'd be helping out much right now since he's been out with an injury since March 12.
Best time to buy low. Would be nice to have someone on D that’s actually built like a man

I’ve seen Chychrun play enough to know he’s a real solid defenseman with size. People like to talk down about him and act like he’s overrated because he’s not playing that good right now when he plays on the coyotes. People talk highly of Carter still when he left the Kings absolutely dogging it for a couple seasons. People said he was done when it was obvious to a select few kings fans that he wasnt trying. I’d be more than happy to pay up the ass for someone like him. I’m not going to act like waking up in the morning to play for the most disgraceful team in the NHL would get anyone going. If no one is talking shit about how much better carter is playing now then I have expect people to give Chychrun the same benefit of doubt. I’ve always been impressed by his defensive prowess and his size. He’s a really good defenseman. Kings are tiny on defense and get punked left and right. Chychrun is big, good skater, good shot, good defensive awareness, and has sandpaper. I’d make that trade. The same people who are talking shit about Chychrun on this board seem to be the same people who think all of our prospects will hit their ceilings and are unmovable

If the Kings were coming off of recent cups and loaded with stars in their prime, I could buy that argument. But even a soon to retire Freddie Modin moved the needle more than Troy Stetcher is likely to.
Stetcher wasn’t acquired to move the needle but to give some depth with all the injuries.

Who has he supplanted and deservedly moved down the depth chart? Do you think he has outplayed Moverare or Strand this year? Whatever the intentions behind the move, anyone drawing a positive judgement after 2+ weeks is engaged in wishful thinking.

If anything he’s screwed up the actual depth by forcing Roy to play LD as he comes back from injury. Stetcher’s only credential is his familiarity with Edler.

Modin was a shell of his former self when the Kings acquired him. So was Halprin. The Kings were also a better team in 2010 and didn’t have nearly the number of injuries this years team has.

Currently he has bumped Bjornfot out of the top 6. Thank goodness too, because Bjornfot has been certifiably awful the past few weeks. Put him and Durzi on the ice together and bad things just seem to happen.

True, but that team didn’t have a bunch of 27/28 years put career highs in points. Even Dave Taylor added Cliff Ronning to a middle of the road roster. It wasn’t his fault that Ronning didn’t feel like playing.

I thought we won the Muzzin trade.

Well, Taylor had no idea what he was doing as GM so I don’t think that’s a good comparison.

Which 27/28 year olds are you referring to? Danault has reached a career high in goals, not points. Moore is the other one. That’s hardly a bunch.

I completely agree that he should be in the press box based on performance. Now guys are coming back he should be finished with.
