The defense has been so horrendous without Doughty. He really was the glue that kept everything together on the blueline. Without Drew in the lineup, we’re seeing a bunch of miscast dmen who are in over their heads.

They miss him dearly but they played some great hockey without him also. Durzi has slowed a bit since his fight against a heavyweight vs Nashville and Bjornfot/Edler/Roy arent 100% back yet. Anderson is also out.
But yes Doughty is a huge piece of the team. Hes a competitor and would be a great presence at this time of the year.

What were you willing to give up for a possible, brief 1st round playoff appearance?

Edler was coming back around the deadline, so he was our veteran D man.


This team isn't winning the Cup, let alone a round in the playoffs, so no need to make a move for a player just to make a move.

That he's been out for half the year? Or that Edler has been out for half the year? Or that Anderson will be out for a solid 1/3 of the season? Or that Walker has been out for the whole year? That half of their current defense has less than 200 games of NHL experience combined?

How many GMs/coaches in the league say that winning the cup is the goal for the season...and how many of those teams actually do it?

Who cares what Blake says, he's trying to sell tickets....this is a BUSINESS. Show me where the majority of 'experts' or even the loyal, miserable fans on this board we're claiming playoffs before game 1.
