Whatever position they show up most commonly on the official roster sheets will be their position. This would apply to very few players.

Oh my...

Jarome Iginla didn’t skate because he was dealing with logistics related to his trade to Los Angeles, so Drew Doughty skated in his place alongside Anze Kopitar and Marian Gaborik. He enjoyed his temporary role as a forward. “It’s cool because I never get to work on on-on-one scoring like that,†he said. “As D-men, you just work on shots from the point all the time, which is boring, (LMAO) to be honest. It’s not fun not getting opportunities to try to score, because when you get ’em in a game, you’re not used to having ’em. I probably could have 10 more goals if I worked on my scoring a little more. (WTF is he waiting for?) I liked it.

Ok, I don't think the idea of Doughty as a winger is a good obviously, but if there was a way to get them counted as one it might be worth it for a couple games. Plus I know Dean likes to get crafty.

Doughty doesn't necessarily have to shoot from the point. However he can get the puck to the net works.

The Kings were dead last in the league in goals scored when people were bouncing the Jack Johnson at forward idea around. I was probably on board with that, couldn't have been any worse than what was happening at the time.

Doughty does at least seem like he'd drive the net a bit more than a lot of the forwards. Really can't afford to lose what he brings defensively but late in a game, down a goal? Sure, why not?

Can someone clarify? I didn't see any more about it in the article.

All players need practice. Doughty is pointing out he doesn't get to practice moving up in the play as often as he'd like. I've always said Doughty is at his biggest threat when he's down around the net and near the circles, not from the point. He's not a Weber or a Karlsson in that regard. I think if his partners get more defensively reliable, Doughty will be allowed to do that. At least I hope.

Burns I think has a pretty great mix of point shooting and getting down to the net. Burns spent a good amount of time being a forward though, so positionally he's seamless when transitioning. I remember an interview he had a long time ago when they switched him to D said the experience at forward gave him a much different perspective from the defensive side since he knew the position.

Maybe some of his gear wasn't coming who knows.

I wouldn't mind seeing 3 D on a PP unit. Between DD AM and JM, they are 3 of our guys that can shoot the puck well in addition to being a little creative. Our F have not gotten the job done
