Speculation: Doug MacLean: Demko not happy in Vancouver

The Miller/EP thing is bad blood. Demko I am guessing is 100% about how he feels the team has been treating him with regards to this injury. Maybe they are trying to force him to play/not play.
Definitely sounds like a reprisal of the Tanner Pearson situation where the medical staff couldn't figure out what to do with him and his injuries just somehow never got better.

Fair warning - I'm an oil fan who has had an anti Nucks bias since the 90's.

If Demko really wants out or is upset with the team, Vancouver needs to axe everyone from the GM up.

This isn't suitable for a team to blow up like this when they're on the cusp of achieving something special.

What if Hughes says he hates being in this ****show? You going to let the media cast a huge cloud of negativity over the city of Vancouver until he gets traded for half a dozen pieces, which turn out to be worth half his value?

This is dumb and Vancouver can't justify making their fans pay so much for tickets at this rate.

How many more players need to be rumoured to be upset with the team before I'm allowed to compare Nucks competency with the Oilers' Kevin Lowe era?

So much for that whole “Canucks win with Demko” narrative from last year.

Glad reality is setting in.

Vancouver should sell everything at the deadline and rebuild, it could not be more over for them
Owner will never allow it. It should've happened years ago, but he is too worried about gouging fans and that extra playoff revenue.

He will use the lucky season they had as an excuse to refuse a rebuild going forward.

Jarry's value is far, far worse than Hoglander's as a negative asset.

You'd have to value Pettersson>>Demko, which is just plain stupid. No deal.
I don't know if Demko has more value than Pettersson, provided the intent was to resign Pettersson.

I would be very cautious about making that statement but that's just me.

Whats MacLean's track record like ? Is it better as a journalist, or whatever he is than it was for him as a GM ?
can you really call media people journalists? They won’t reveal their source which they don’t have to but did he put his reputation on the line here?
By that I mean, did he say “my source says”….
Or did he protect or preference it by saying the usual “I’m hearing”, “word is” etc.?

Here we go with the same garbage again. At some point Demko is just going to say “fine, I guess trade me since nobody ever believes me when I say the speculation is a complete fabrication.”

So while he’s very likely leaving after his contract expires, he isn’t pushing any buttons to get out early. Good bet he signs with Anaheim, LA or Detroit but that’s after his deal expires. The man is just trying to stay healthy at this point.

I’m all in for the circus that’s going on and the “hyuck, hyuck. ThAt pDo durrrrr” comments for a team that hasn’t had a single healthy game with the full roster this year.
Yeah, once Dakota Joshua comes back, it's all going to turn around. If missing Hronek for 1.5 months kills a year, not that good anyways.

It's called star players being sh**

20 mill for Miller/Petey and the two are on like 58 point paces lol. These two looked at Huberdeau and said "Holy Muh Beer!"

I think the Canucks are going to be rebuilding within a couple years. Once Hughes gets out of there they are completely cooked.

They'll trade Hughes before they let him go anywhere near Free Agency. Could happen as soon as next summer.

Demko has been dog shit since coming back. He looks completely injury prone as well.
Last year he was a top 3 goalie. Crazy how quick things change.

Who knows what happens with Demko in net. He was insane last year for us.
Still doesn't change the fact that the Oilers won by 1 goal in 7 games against Silovs who looks like he may never been a NHL regular.

There has also been a longstanding rumor about Miller coming within milliseconds of being traded to the Pens a few trade deadlines ago. Hence the joke.
i understood dont worry.

I feel like everytime I read nucks news.. it is bad news. I was hoping for a healthy 2 or three years of absolute hate between us! Get back on track Vancouver! It's more fun when you are doing great.

Give it a break. As demonstrated this year, Demko does nothing for you coming off injury, but go ahead and keep the excuses going and pretending your team is the only one with injuries - it’s exactly why everyone is enjoying see it all crash and burn.
