Marchand, Lucic, McQuaid, Boychuck, Krejci all came up under Clode as young guys. When a GM wants to rebuild with youth in the future but continues to extend and bring in older guys it is 100% contradiction.

The organization is taking a public stance that they can make the playoffs. In reality, they are rebuilding, but don't want to admit it for some reason.

I am exceptionally optimistic about many of those prospects for sure. Jacobs set this up for disaster exclaiming he expects a deep run early in the year. Meanwhile, almost every armchair GM/Owner here could see way back then, this team would be most likely doing one of two things

fighting/clinging to a playoff spot

lottery picking

The Prez and Ownership offering crickets, embarrassing

ok are we talking about CJ and how you said he can't work the youth in or are we talking about the oilers?

There is a difference between full youth movement and brining in and re-signing many older guys. So after he signs Liles and McQuaid and still has Chara is CJ supposed to say i know you brought in these three vets but I am going with the kids.

doesn't work that way. The lack of youth on the team is based on decisions by the GM and who is signs not on the coach.

neither do I. I am almost always pro managment and have been for a long long time but this time they lost me.
