Management Don Sweeney extended 2 years

He lives here - quality of life and family

You could offer me twice the value of my house I’m not selling

You could offer me a blank check for my pets and not doing

He’s got 9 picks and a healthy Lindholms & McAvoy returning

I’ll bet any honest person right now $100 they get at least 90 points in 2025-26

I’ll donate my winning to the Salem Animal Shelter the other person can do whatever they want

Hit me up

I am undefeated here and all the posters were fantastic and donated to the shelter in their own pets names

The Bruins took a 5 week blow it up and will be adding healthy Lindholms, McAvoy and Marchand

When Marchand $4.3 M dream house his wife renovated and moved in Feb ‘25 goes on the market I will believe it and bend the knee he’s not coming back

Until then it’s a hall pass and the Bruins got a 1st round pick

Bruins are sitting with $29 M and 9 picks in top two rounds next 3 years

I hate to bum Bruins haters but their blow it up free fall was from March 11 to April 15th

They will be back
Marchy is signing in Toronto sadly

Northeastern, Harvard, and UMass have more players in the NHL than any Big 10 team other then Minnesota or Wisconsin.
That's hard to believe and I doubt that's the case historically especially with Michigan. What's the quality of the player's tho? And are they counting guys who've only played a handful of games? I'm guessing the margin of difference is very small.

I'm also not saying that these schools don't produce players, I'm saying I find it odd how much Sweeney focuses on HE when there's so many other conferences and leagues around.

this is where Im at and alot of what you're saying is actually thought out with detail instead of just the tired takes born out of frustration or waiting for shock jockey's to tell you what to think\

If Sweeney simply stood pat and make half or a third of the deals he did, or traded picks to try to slip into the playoffs because of guys being injured, that would be a true reason to be pissed

Sweeney went in like a brain surgeon on deadline day and executed a mission in a precise manner just at the right time.

If marchand returns especially, that deal is going to look incredible. The plethora of picks we got is insane. If the Bruins play to their potential next year no doubt in my mind they are in the playoffs and we've got something to build on with more and more young guys coming up...plus that 7th overall....yowza if they strike hot on that one.
I love what he did at the deadline. What about before that? What's being lost is they were not supposed to suck this year and they did. They sucked with Lindholm and worse with McAvoy. This was the big year remember? Last year was the bridge to lots of cap space for signings and making a big run, yet they were .500 at the deadline. They were not supposed to be playing for the 8th seed. Why the pass for being where they were? One long term injury?

.Sweeney strikes me as a careful guy who prefers the familiar to the unknown or lesser known. Having played at Harvard & with the Bruins he's probably become very familiar with HE coaches, their philosophies, player pipelines etc. through the years. JMO

Well don't discount the E. Lindholm was dealing with a back injury but more importantly I think Monty's shenanigans really set them up for failure. The team was lacking leadership, lots of new guys and young guys, who was the voice in the room beyond Marchand? It eventually became Pasta and I give him a lot of credit for stepping up. But we needed a strong coach to get this group right and Monty quit on them. In a league where pretty much every team is good and you're only guaranteed a playoff stop if you're top 3 in your division, that's a lot of shit sandwich to have to swallow and still keep on trucking.

Cale Makar from UMass-Amherst and Conner Hellebuyck from UMass-Lowell

Soon to be repeat Norris and Vezina winners

Pretty good

I mean it's true. Hockey East is easily the best league in hockey, and produces more pros than anywhere else. Bigger gap between them and the second league than there is between the SEC and any other league in college football.

Notable BC players:
Chris Kreider
Cam Atkinson
Matt Boldy
Noah Hanifin
Kevin Hayes
Will Smith
Alex Tuch
Mike Matheson
Thatcher Demko

Notable BU players:

Macklin Celebrini
Jack Eichel
Charlie McAvoy
Charlie Coyle
Joel Farabee
Lane Hutson
Clayton Keller
Jake Oettinger
Evan Rodrigues
Brady Tkachuk
Trevor Zegras

yep and to be honest, look at the majority of NHL teams, for every Spencer Carbery hire, there are 5 NHL teams hiring retreads or NHL experienced coaches.

While I am all on in on a Sturm/Donskov, look at final 4 this year, Maurice, Deboer, Rod B and Knoblauch coaching, not much different than the majority of coaches going with a vet and being less willing to accept a kids mistakes and put them out there with regularity

2. Sign Marner to Nylander deal
3. Try and trade Reilly

Knights (leafs Cowen) v Moncton (Desnoyers) on Saturday night

Mathews
Marner
Nylander
Knies
Cowen

Heck of a top 6

Stop trading 1’s

Hockey East is easily the best league in hockey? Now that's hilarious. I'm pretty sure I could produce a list of NHL players who played in the OHL that's more impressive than HE can but I got better things to do than argue with a homer.

College hockey come on man. That's what we've been talking about.

I mean Vatrano, Montour, and Quick are also from UMass.

Weird hill you're repeatedly dying on here.
What a weird comment to make. I say that Sweeney focuses too much on HE and you seem to think HE is heads and tails above every other league but yeah I'm the one dying on a hill here.

I’d love Rod the Bod here

It's not easily the best league in college hockey either though. There's three other excellent conferences. I'm not a fan of hyperbole though so maybe I'm just being picky.
the NCHC has won 7 of the past 9 Frozen Fours and a team in the final 4 the past 11 of 12 years.

What you forget is this is a regular season hockey fanbase.

Jesus Christ Lou you need to take a breath.

We were primarily talking about developing pros - where Sweeney should focus. How’s the NCHC doing with that?

Yea def better pros from HE but are they developing these guys or are the top players going there for their 1-2 seasons to play with each other? Like the territory rights back in the day. If Celebrini goes to western Michigan he’s still number 1. These guys that go to these schools have top five wrapped up at 17 yo anyways already having been drafted. How many under the radar guys or UDFA from these schools are becoming great players? All these firsts they generate would go where they do in the draft whichever conference they went to as they have already been chosen

Why are teams lining up for Carle and not Pandolfo?
