You do realize this kind of thing happens all the time in international sports. You have dual citizens who may identify more with country A but play for country B internationally.

Let them do that if that's what they want.

But who on NA U-24 had a choice in the matter?

Personally, I think athletes are more interested in competing in big international events to face the best in the world than they are in playing for the country.

Hence their excitement to play in the all star game, since playing the best is the primary motivating factor.

You don't really have one of those without the other.

who cares. It's perhaps gonna be the best tournament in history and the playes are excited for it.

Yeah, who cares what team the players want to play for? I'm sure that the players are like some fans and just want an all star exhibition where nationalities don't matter.

North American have no chance to win this WCH, imho. They will dominate only at the beginnig. It will be difficult to play with them only the first couple of games. Big teams will get them easy later... as soon as chemistry start to work.

If team North America makes it into the semis, they will more than Likely face the US or Canada. That's where it probably ends for them.

However, team North Americas defense is much better than I imagined! I'm interested in seeing how they do against CR tomorrow night!

I believe they do have a chance but that they are not the favorites. Team NA is full of blue chippers and guys who have already produced against men in the NHL (Gaudreau , McDavid , MacKinnon , Eichel , Scheifele , Parayko , Ekblad , Ghost , Couts , RNH ect). They are young but it's not like they are a bunch of kids coming straight off junior. Most of them already have 2+ years experience at the pro level Granted the competition they face is not the same in this tournament that it is in the NHL but on the other hand it's not like they are they don't have a stacked team either.

What's going to be interesting is how they are gonna react when they play faster and more physical teams. Team Europe is not exactly the fastest nor the most physical. Facing Canada and the US will be the real test imho. I could see them giving fits to Sweden/Finland/Russia/Czech Republic.

Will be very interesting to watch for sure
