I sure hope not because I have my Playoff pool ready with Montreal in the playoffs and don't want to have to wait until the last minute to update it.

I hope so. Would much rather see Columbus make the PO with how everything has unfolded for them this year.

If the Canes show up and play like they give a shit, yes.

But I don't see them caring enough to match MTL's desperation or compete (not that you can blame them since the game means nothing to them).

I mean there is some incentive besides spoiler.

Bad road team this year, would be nice to get at least one before the playoffs start. Rookies looking to impress. Kotchekov could use a big game to get his head right.

I think tonight comes down to Kotchekov. If he's tested early and passes the test, then Carolina might win. If the Canes can't score early and Montreal scores on like their 3rd shot, then Montreal wins.

I want as many Canadian teams as possible, but it would be great drama on the last day if MTL loses in regulation tonight. Columbus would be a great story. But I wouldn't be upset if MTL got a point tonight and got in.

Yes. They’ve already lost big home games with less pressure, and I’m sure Carolina would love to bop them. There are a handful of teams for whom it’d be better to play this game on the road—Montreal is probably top of the list.

And if Montreal loses in regulation and leaves the door open, then no way Columbus loses at home to the Isles the next day.

Suzuki has been ass his last 3 games.

I doubt he doesn't come out strong.

Caufield has been snakebitten lately. He is due to score one.

Gallagher is playing for his mother and newborn. He is the type of player that you want in a game like this.

I think Anderson gonna come out and crash and bang.

I just hope Habs can get a goal from the blueline.

Historically bad season for Habs backline for goal...

6 Hutson
6 Matheson
4 Guhle
2 Struble - blackhole
2 Carrier (blown two amazing chance last game feed by Demidov) - Hate Carrier so much blackhole.
1 Savard - Washed up

1 Xhekaj (Not Playing)
1 Barron (traded)
2 Mailloux (AHL)

So 21 goals from backline in the lineup at game 82.

Its absolutely pathetic since our 2nd option is often a point shot.

For comparison last season Habs d-squad score 48 goals.

Would be clutch if out atrocious backline could do something offensively.

Canes likely sitting bunch of the roster, so many of them will just be AHL and PB players.......so if the Habs blow it...........

I’m not sure it can be considered choke if Montreal doesn’t make the playoffs. They weren’t expected to be here. The season is still a success for them regardless. Maybe a little more painful. But they took big steps this season.

Do you have a link saying that? I can't find it.

Lines at practice last night included Jarvis, Aho, Blake, Kotka, Svech, Stankoven, Slavin, Burns, Orlov...
Is it still a jinx if the votes are 50/50 or not!?

I'd be very surprised if they can't beat half of a Canes team with nothing to play for. Still think they make it.

They relied on a 19 year old rookie to get a point against one of the worst rosters the other night. That was just terrible effort… let’s hope they play like their season depends on it tomorrow.
they rely on about 5-6 guys 25 or younger to even get to the miracle spot they're in now..
All the prognosticators are in here after all predicting they'd be in the lottery

What could have been viewed impossible a week ago is about to happen, does Montreal complete the choke job?
I dislike the Habs as much as the next person, but hard to view it as choking either way.

They were never supposed to be in this spot in the first place, and it’s not like they have some brutal record to finish the season.

It would be a lot more that the Jackets earned their spot

To answer the question, no I think the Habs make it unfortunately
