Management Does Joe Sacco deserve to be officially the HC of the Bruins in 2025-2026?

Strong no. Going to Sacco I wanted to see improvements in the areas of the team that were lacking under Monty, primarily, special teams and defensive play. I think they've improved somewhat in some of those areas, but not enough. Add to that some other concerning issues like third period collapses, SH goals against, player usages and line combos.

Same players, same result! I want to see what he does till the end of the season with the new guys here and the useless tits gone. Just not having to watch Carlos blunders makes the team more watchable for me. If it still looks like a dumpster fire then all but the goalie coach can go!

Think Sweeney`s draft deserves an A, hell, I can easily be convinced an A+

I think he needs to clean house this summer, other than the equipment staff, I want none of the coaches I see behind the bench there next year, not a one. I`m sure they are all good people but...I`m done, want new blood back there with a fresh approach to working with kids and vets alike

I have no idea what Sacco says to these guys or the drills etc he runs.Maybe his ideas are good and the team is not good enough to execute it.I know having no top line centre could have changed alot of the 1 goal losses they have .My only gripe with Joe based off what I see is he rarely shows any emotion.Sometimes that is needed to get the next call, but yea, I basically have no idea what he says to these players so I can't really say if he deserves to stay or not.

Sorry. No.

Sacco has done as well as one could expect having been handed, as Mark Divver correctly noted to Evan Marinofsky on trade day, "ten pounds of shit in a five pound bag."

The Bruins need a clean slate behind the bench. That means everyone, and you, too.

I like Chris Kelly and Sacco has been a good soldier. Leach? Clearly, they had been grooming him to be the Next Guy, but all bets are off. Irrationally and unfairly, I don't know about him and I don't want to know.

I want someone else. From outside the organization. Someone up to speed with the way the NHL game is presently played.

Now, who?

I don't know.

I'd like Joel Quenneville, but of course the selection would be problematic. Bad PR, yes, but also age and the possibility that the game has passed him by.

As mentioned, perhaps a Spencer Carbery type.

What I don't want is a college whiz bang Flavor of the Month or, again, Jay Leach.

I want someone with considerable experience, and plenty of the winning variety.

A friend who calls games and knows his stuff suggested Hershey Bears head coach Todd Nelson, who brings both,

If the plan is to be competitive next year, it's a hard no for me. If tearing it down and gunning for a top-5 pick.... who cares. Sure. Let him be the tank commander. I don't think the latter is happening. Too many good pieces. I would wipe the coaching staff clean. Fresh slate.

That man has no top line centre which is a coach killer.I want to see how the rest the season plays out before I vote him off the island.

The final 16 games are as of now all playoff games

I am mostly with you Carbery maybe Carle although he might be flavor of the month indeed....Ted Donato is comfortable at Harvard I suppose.

Give me some Peter Laviolette. Coached 3 different teams to the Cup Finals. Won Cup with Carolina in 2006. Took Philadelphia to the Finals in 2010 and Nashville in 2017.

Coaching the Bruins is his dream job.
I have never figured out how Peter Laviolette got into Sinden's doghouse after Providence won it all in 1999. Somehow when Pat Burns was fired, Mike Keenan was brought in.

That is one I would like to know too. He played here in the minors went to Westfield State.....etc If Sinden rejected bet Cam would as well.....
My educated guess is Laviolette wanted more money and wound up getting a payday from Milbury and the Islanders.

The Bruins and Pat Burns had a very messy divorce and Sinden moved heaven and earth to prevent Burns from making the Hockey Hall of Fame while alive.

Then somehow Robbie Ftorek became the answer. :help:

Mike O'Connell could not go to the bathroom without Harry's permission.

Sounds like a very good guess at that. Did you ever read where Bobby Clarke once brushed off OC with "Give me Sinden."? Tells you something about Oc's lack of power, Sinden's stature and Clarke's nature I think

Players like him and play hard

But Skippy from Stoughton doesn’t want him so fire him and bring in an outsider

It worked in Ted Lasso

I want someone with significant AHL experience and a winning record in that league.

If they also have college pedigree, fine. But, again, I DON"T WANT some college flavor of the month who "communicates well with young players," is fixated on generating offense at the expense of sound defense, etcetera.

You know, Sunny Jim.

No thank you.

I'm no expert. I can't say who I want. But I don't want another in house, Bruins bred Next In Line like Jay Leach, as irrational & unfair as that is.

I want, in a phrase, something else,

Do you really think Sacco's the guy?

He has "interim head coach" written all over him.

He strikes me as a nuts & bolts, defense first, keep it simple coach who communicates in clear, no nonsense fashion.

Which, of course, I like.

But that approach -- which worked fine in 2011 -- may not be sophisticated enough to compete in today's NHL.

I forget what it's called, but there is an offensive scheme, embodied by FLA and now widespread throughout the league, designed to create chaos in the defensive team's zone, which leads to mental mistakes and running around, which leads to goals. I think it might be called a three one. Like, three offensive players bearing down on an outnumbered or out of position defensive corps.

Whatever it's called, it works, and the Bruins under both Montgomery and Sacco have been unable to effectively counteract it.

In other words, the Boston Bruins have to get with the times, and I'm not certain Joe Sacco is the fellow to deliver them there.

Maybe I'm all wrong.

It wouldn't be the first time, nor the last.

Not up on the AHL, so I can see why you want Nelson or someone similar. Boudreau came from Portland for example......without fact checking it...
..Fwiw I want some one different too so Teddy D was not the best idea "We want something else..." indeed ah see mash clips often and saw the episode a few times....liver and fish...

Messy divorce?

My understanding, cloudy as it was, indicated a mystifying animus toward Pat Burns on the part of some old NHL hands, with the juice to obstruct his induction into the HHOF.

My guess has always been jealousy directed at a largely beloved, three time Jack Adams winner (with three different clubs) & Stanley Cup champion.

Is the implication here that a spiteful Harry Sinden was responsible for the petty denial of Hall of Fame entry?

Please explain.

Before I am served with a defamation lawsuit.

The late Red Fisher wrote about Sinden blocking it often. He was finally inducted four years after his death in 2010.
