Management Does Joe Sacco deserve to be officially the HC of the Bruins in 2025-2026?

See how the team responds to the final 17 games. He has been with the Bruins for 11 seasons so he may not be given the job

No. Sacco's a nice guy. Steady. Handled a tough situation fairly well. But I've seen nothing to suggest he can mix it with the top coaches. Was an assistant for so long for a reason. The Bruins shouldn't be aiming for 'good' behind the bench, they need to go out and find 'great'. Sweeney went hard at the deadline, and rightly so. He needs to do the same as regards coaching, or the whole project is a waste of time.

New head coach, and at least one new assistant too. Find people with the right talent, experience and vision to help restore the team's culture and work ethic, sort out the defense and generate a lot more quality offense.

Absolutely not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at the special teams, the lack of effort, the lack of body position, stick position and attention to detail, and the slow and questionable line changes. My guess is he did inherit a low effort, mess with comfortable players, but this staff is bad. (and my teachers always told e not to use!!!! lol)

Joe is an assistant. He had one good year with COL, lost some talent and went to pot. As AUSSIE Bruin said, he was a long term assistant for a reason. They can do better. I have heard joe Murray say they will probably promote Jay Leach. If that happens I may suspend my fandom for a while.

I think the team played marginally better for 2 weeks after he was hired. Not one area was significantly improved. I like him. He seems nice. If he had had the success he had in Colorado I would have been all in. This wasn’t that type of turnaround.

No brainer

In high school we had debate class - they don’t anymore and me taking Sacco against any social media would be like the Georgia Bulldogs football team playing UnMass in college football in 2025

the only wrinkle is if Chariie McAvoy FIL became available

Otherwise as Tom from Quincy would say ‘Felger it’s a no brainah’

If they finish strong (and that's a big if) the. he deserves to be a candidate for the position but I would hope they'd do a real search before deciding. After this summer I don't think Sweeney gets another coach unless there's a Stanley Cup involved.

Based on the trades that Seeeney made, they are starting a new era of Bruins hockey. If that's the case then Sacco needs to go. He's just as much a part of that old core / old era of Bruins hockey. He's been with the organization for 11yrs. The team needs new voices behind the bench. Aside from a decent 10 game run against bad teams right after Monty was fired, this team has been awful under Sacco.

Counterpoint - with so many new faces they need some kind of stability and a good teacher/coach to get everyone comfortable in the system. Throw a new coaching staff in and there's no way of telling if the cause of problems is player based or coaching based. Sacco is a steady ship

The High School I work in has Harvard Model Congress, which I work with - it's an after-school organization.

Any excuse to go to Boston I'm on it!!

I'm leaning no . . .and thats because:

1. The team has looked positionally, off all year
2. Both Special Teams have been bottom quarter of the NHL, and off all year

Despite all the talk of warts and a flawed lineup, if this team is Top 1/3 in Special Teams, they just passed Tampa yesterday for 3rd place.

DKH would still win the debate, and I'd gratefully concede, but Sacco would have to sell me on what's he/they going to do differently.

Whatever they do, they need someone that can coach a damn powerplay. That's all I ask. So far, it hasn't looked great under Sacco's command (and yes, I know he farms it out but it is his overall responsibility).

Edit: PK needs work but to me that is an easier job for a team that has always done pretty well in that area. This season seems like an anomaly in that regard. The PP hasn't been great for a while.
