Not to pick on you, but why have I seen so many sharks fans use Bordeleau as filler in trade talks both here and on certain podcast channels?

Bordeleau is not an NHL player. I would be shocked if he’s not in Russia next year. He has exactly zero trade value, in fact, it’s negative because he’s a contract spot.

Because he was once our top prospect as recently as three years ago, as sad as that sounds.

We've mostly accepted that he's not going to turn into anything. Now he's basically just a placeholder for "long-shot prospect" in a trade proposal rather than us thinking he's got any real value.

Fans rarely make fair trade offers online. Mostly it's "trade the stuff we don't want at all to another team to get stuff from them that we want."
