Great game by Les Boys. Dobes is the truth!!

Heineman - Evans - Armia is our second line right now, but the penciled in second line played a great game too. Nice to see the puck go in for Dach, he really really needed that. He put his second one in with some umph. Good to see Newhook finally get an assist as well.

I really like Carrier. Someone in another thread mentioned it but he really does remind me of Mike Weaver. Super steady, not afraid to mix it up. Pretty much the anti-Barron.

This team can really score. We just need a decent (doesn't have to be all-world) goalie (Dobes 🙏 ) + Demidov. I'd also like to see Matheson get traded at TDL and call up Mailloux now to get him more experience for next season.
Speaking of Mailloux…. Can anyone here update me on what’s going on with him in Laval? Lost his pP time and is t producing whatsoever.

Pascal Vincent recently said offense isn’t what he needs to be good at for next level and the power play won’t be what makes him successful in NHL. They know he’s got the offensive instincts they want to work with him on defense and he seems really willing to work on that with them, said that’s what’s going to get him to get up and stay up in NHL. Seems like they’re limiting the things he focuses on to get it right

Wow that gotta be a big shift mentally for him. He’s always been an offence first D

This coaching / development group seem really focused on “layers” - I.e when a player isn’t getting all of their fundamental rules right they scale back to the basics and get them to only focus on certain things until it’s drilled in their head then layer back in the more instinctual elements to that players game. It can be frustrating for us to watch at times but seems to work

Great to see Laine be directly responsible for 2 goals on 5 on 5 even if he didn't get any assists.

Habs are at 33 pts in 35 games. Exact same as the Rangers lol wtf

He can be.

He's been so up and down with this organization. He's one of the best defensive forwards and penalty killers out there when he wants to be.
I find it's his offensive game that is the variable. I can't recall a time where he's been a liability defensively. Even when his defensive game isnt at his best he's still solid. Armia would be sought after by a contender who already has scoring. The guy is a coach's dream because he eats minutes and can really help close out games.

There’s been enough tweaks to change the face of this team:
Laine in.
Hutson QB #1PP
Barron out - Carrier in
Primeau out - Dobes in
Also not running around their own zone like chickens with their heads cut off has helped , first month of the season was a disaster

Everything but the most important ingredient.......a brain.
Sometimes rangy lengthy guys take some time , you see shades of petry in this kid but the brain is really Nathan Beaulieu esque and has showed zero improvement in 3 years

I never quite understood why folks didn't want Evans on this team. He's basically Lehky lite (although these days he seems to have taken a step forward) and you 100% need players like this to win a cup. He's core for the next 4 years imo. And the style he plays, so long as he keeps his foot speed, he will have a long career.

Dude's got 3 shorties this season. That puts him 3rd place in the league (Reinhart and Tuch take 1-2 spot). That's not bad company at all.
He’s already 28, not overly big, and has had multiple concussions.

I appreciate what he brings and happy for the season he’s having, but If any team comes calling and offers a third or second rounder fur him you take it and run

I just finished watching the game...

I think Dobes > Primeau... anyone agrees? :D

Dach with 2 goals and Newhook with 2 assists... and people say christmas miracles don't happen anymore. Ma man Curvy Duck is just getting warmed up. By end of Jan he will have as many goals as Caufield.

Lol... solid game overall. I am sure panthers didn't play their best but who gives a f***. f*** them. Habs were solid and they did what they had to do to win.

Let's do the same tomorrow.

Oh and f*** the leafs!

Yo-Elle is awesome. Y'all hating on my boy for no reason.
The guy is 31 and has a history of disappearing for weeks on end.

Where was the Armia we are seeing now all these years?

There is a reason he came within a hairs breath last year of playing himself out of the league

And let’s not forget it’s a contract year, so it’s no coincidence he is actually putting the effort. He did the same thing last time he was heading to free agency and look how that panned out.

Sorry, but this nice little run he’s having will not change my opinion that we need to trade him now before he disappears again and his value drops
