Do you think "Chemistry" exists

The other way to ask the question is "do some players perform better as a whole with specific other players?"

Obviously yes.

Depends on the situation.

There are some players that click instantly. There are some that have simply played together long enough that they have built that chemistry.

On the opposite scope, there are also situations where two guys that should work together great on paper simply...don't.

Perfect example is people expected Gretzky & Hull to be otherworldly together, and that just didn't work.

Without a doubt, peoples play styles just mesh together better than others. I know it's always been the case for me playing Dek hockey.

I actually wonder where the Sedins started on the bolded. Clearly they've maintained chemistry by playing hockey with each other for their entire professional lives, but I wonder if they clicked instantly as children/juniors. One would assume so, but I'm looking for anecdotal evidence.

I forgot what age but in there early hockey careers before the big leagues they both played Centre. Then Daniel moved to wing to play with Henrik

Chemistry is absolutely real. I have a friend that I play ball hockey with, neither one of us is a terribly good athlete, but we can play very well together simply because we just happen to think the game in the same way. You can build chemistry over time by learning how other players are going to play but when you get someone that just sees the game the same way as you do it's really easy. They go where you would go in their position so when you take a look you see them in the first spot you want to make a play to. It's all about having those similar instincts.

I played soccer as a defense men or mid field.

I was just average but a couple of my friends played forward my lobs always seemed to go to them.

I'd get the ball and just boot it perfectly to were they were running.

We won with a mediocre roster. When the coach plays you all game because you are one of the better players you know you should be in trouble.

Chemistry definitely does not exist. That is why analytics are right 100% of the time.

Absolutely.

Lovejoy and Fowler never made much sense as a pairing yet for much of their time together they worked well with each other and not quite as hot with others.

Although lately Fowler has to spend half his time covering for Lovejoy's mistakes.

Have you seen the no-look backhand passes and stretch passes by Getzy to Perry?

There's a reason why we call them the Twins, because they know precisely where and when the other person is gonna be ready for a scoring opportunity.

Chemistry exists, without a doubt.

Do you think it was just formed by playing together for so long, or do you think it was just naturally there.

Of course it exists. When 2, or if your lucky more, people see the game in the same way they will have success playing together. They can tell when their teammate is going to pass/shoot and where, seconds before they even do it. It happens all the time in sports.

Edit: I do think that it is something that can be obtained when you play with someone for so long. But it could also happen when players first play with each other too.

Chemistry most definitely exists, in every team based situation (not just sports) there are certain people who you instantly click with and others that you will never see eye to eye with on anything.

It's incredible to me that this thread not only exists but is still going.

You gotta wonder whether OP is taking the piss on this one.

They always seemed to have chemistry but I can't remember if they played together in the AHL or not. Might've formed there.

That's not chemistry. It's some weird telepathic connection between them.

Haha. I have to agree. I have proof too:
One of the sickest passes I've ever seen.

Man, I miss Ehrhoff. That was the beginning of the end for Gillis. He just fit this team like a glove.

Also, there was some quiz game they played and they had to write down a number (I can't remember the question). Anyways, they were both the same amount away from the correct number (one answer was below and one was above the correct number). Just crazy. I know there is video footage of that quiz contest somewhere on youtube. It will be interesting to see if one day we figure out some type of connection between certain family members/people.

Anyways, of course chemistry exists.
