If you've ever been to a game down there. They are some of the friendliest and most accommodating fans. They fill that place every night and it's pretty loud and supportive. Just a house of horrors for us. Everyone loves nostalgia and the Whalers including me but, they didn't support that team all that well until it was too late. It's a AHL market at best and the Wolf Pack are mid pack at best in AHL attendance

We’ll never get the Whalers back, but if we did, I suspect the nostalgia factor alone would power strong attendance numbers for several years.

Nobody goes to Wolfpack games because most people here became Bruins fans. Also the Wolfpack themselves are pretty mid.

Capitals are good this year but really, they were both southeast teams the last time the Devils were a good team. Devils have a bunch of ex-canes playes so there really isn't that big hatred.

That's weird because I went to see them play the Devils back in December 2022 and it was the loudest arena I have been to. It also was a Tueaday night. They actually have a pretty rowdy crowd.

The prerecorded crowd noise would help make it loud. My understanding is that a number of teams in various sports do that .

Exactly - they're not THAT rowdy or THAT loud. The arena amping it up makes it seem louder than it really is.

Canes fans are the worst. They're STILL talking about the last game forgetting entirely that they were beaten the night before. They're STILL talking about Haula. STILL talking about Necas/Meier even though pretty much everyone outside the Canes bubble agrees the penalty was baloney and the initial instinct not to call a penalty at all was correct. Necas is a known diver and him throwing his head back like he was hit high was real rich and at the very least should have been embellishment.

They just don't know the sport, they're homers, it's awful.

"rival" is weird term to use around the metro area mainly because there are so many close teams where you will interact with their fans and making them real "rivals" on the ice they are rivals not to the extent the rangers lesser extent flyers and even lesser extent the islanders are.

My dad hates Kyle Busch. Probably because he drives for Toyota, though I'm not sure if he does or not, because I don't follow enough anymore. So if my dad hates him I love him.

I haven't followed the sport much in the last 20-25 years. His brother Kurt was just breaking into the cup series when I last followed closely.
