Been thinking about this lately. I personally will continue to follow after Oilers have been eliminated if there's a team that I enjoy or a storyline that's enticing to me. But in general, I will kind of check out beyond some box score readings and what not.

Curious what others feel and do

Hockey is a disturbingly large part of my personality.

So no.

Mine too. I become borderline obsessive during the 2 or so months that are the playoffs. During the regular season I only really watch my own two teams, but I might check out a random other game if I'm bored one night or it's late in the season. Come playoff time, I'm in for the long haul and watch every game possible.

My obsession was even "worse" (or "stronger" if you prefer a more neutral intensifier) when I still lived in Arizona and was deeply involved in the local hockey community there (as both a player and an official). My entire life revolved around hockey, especially since for a couple years I was making enough money as an official that I didn't have a separate job.

Never been that kind of sports fan and can’t relate to anyone who can only find enjoyment through perceived attachment to the local team. There’s always some storyline to follow.

I'll throw a game on if I am at home and nothing to do if the Flames are out, or have a game on in the background, but wouldn't clear my schedule to watch any other team especially once June hits and it's getting nice out. Would probably tune in for potential cup clincher however.

Once Jets are eliminated it becomes background noise.

I will throw the playoff games on, and will watch half-assedly between scrolling on my phone or making dinner. I’m definitely not watching with any level of investment.

Maybe some rare exceptions to that, eg. Game 7 of SCF last year.

Add in that they just took like a week off leading into freaking June. If I weren't on here, I'd genuinely forget that the playoffs weren't over.

I will always follow to varying extents but to be honest will the games being played so late into the year i need something to draw me in.

Busier now that I’m older and I live far up north with few sunshine months so I want to enjoy them. This year is one of those years where I’m invested enough to really follow, but if we had a Carolina Dallas final I would probably mostly check scores and read up on here.

The answer for nearly everyone is yes they check out, except TOR fans who linger around and remind the fans with teams still in it that it was bull crap they ran into a hot goalie. Kind of like the janitor who used to be the high school quarterback that lost the district championship game because it was just a little bit colder out than usual that time of year. Causing him to fumble the ball on 4th and inches with 7 seconds to go. He was never quite the same after that.

I sometimes do sometimes dont. I think the playoffs dragging on sl long i fluence many people to though. I mean we just had to wait an entire week for last round to start. If nhl would start next rounds immediately and we had no more 2 days off between games, i think thatd help a lot of people from losing interest regardless of whether they like the teams

I tend to watch most of the playoffs. I’m more likely to check out if Nashville gets eliminated in some heartbreaking fashion, though.

I’m not a fair weather hockey fan. Also I’d wager the ones that say no are the loudest about player analysis even though they clearly don’t watch teams outside of theirs
