Unpopular opinion, but Vince doesn't have real sources and never has, and until Larry Brooks does an expose on this we won't really know what's truly happening.

(And half the board will pillory Brooks because they don't know when he's reporting and when he's editorializing)

Vince casually mentioning a player went out to dinner with a PR person. Which player do we think took a team employee out on a date?

there's one person in particular who just about ruins this forum for me. constantly wrong about everything yet brash and sarcastic about it and posts way too much. if i have to read another one of their 3rd grade nicknames like "Cryder" i might just have to lose the link to this forum.
Just press Ignore....I had to do it 2 weeks ago...best move I ever made on here . There are some who just want to argue for the sake of arguing and make their points always right and all other ones wrong and they are far from nice in those comments while doing so....

This tells me all I need to know and the thing many have been worried about. Everything starts from the top. Just look at the Mets under the Wilpons compared to now under Cohen. Look at the dysfunction of the Jets.
Yeah, that's easily the most concerning part of all of this if it's even remotely true.

It’s kind of funny to read the Knicks have the same policy about separating the employees from the players, and there seems to be legit no problems over there.

The Knicks as a group haven’t had such good chemistry since probably the 90’s. I get winning cures all, but the Rangers players need to look in the mirror to get out of this, or just ask to move on.

I would sure like to see Schneider/Fox /Cuylle/Laf step up and speak out to the guys not pulling their weight . We need to start seeing some new leaders step forward....the time is now . Bring this to a head in the room and then start playing hockey . I'm not sure if we need a brawl in the room or one on the ice....I think either would work. LOL...one of the entertaining games in Jr hockey ...Halifax and Summerside PEI . Few years back....

They've spoken more than the NMC boys sans Trocheck.

Trocheck basically confirms the majority of the team understands why the changes were made. If a few individuals want to sulk and give up, then get rid of them.

This team went from Eastern confernce finals to everyone sucking....figure it out.
I don't need to figure out shit all.

Maybe it's the guys getting out chanced 2-1 in the playoffs where the team won 7 games in a row should be the ones looking inward to try and resolve those issues. Drury tried to resolve those problems externally, was blocked from doing step 2 (step 1 was Goodrow), and then they were given another chance to fix the same problems plaguing this team for nearly two decades, sans a stretch from December 2013 through end of May 2014. Figure out how to play effectively 5v5 and not live and die based on your powerplay and your goalie.

They failed at it and now the leaders are pissy that the GM that wanted to make changes because they forced his hand. It'd be malpractice to not make changes and a fireable offense.

This isn't an endorsement of Drury, it's a resounding affirmation that the leaders in the room were never going to fix those issues. This group got 3 kicks at the can. The first one they went and got role players and got to G6 of the ECF. The 2nd was for starpower and they flamed out in 6 games. The 3rd was last year, with similar adds to the first time around and made it exactly as far as they did the first time.

The statement was made in re-signing Lafreniere and Shesterkin, two of the few players that stepped up their games in April and May. Goodrow shooting 40% from the field is not stepping his game up. I will give it to him though, he has a lot of heart and willpower when the chips are on the line, he's just not good enough for what he was making.

what are the odds that Vince's contacts for the story are disgruntled former(or maybe current) MSG staff trying to start shit

Part of me wonder if this whole thing is being made bigger than it is and it's closer to a normal breakdown and not about management at all
Trocheck's quotes seems to confirm this.

Trouba getting traded had to happen. 8.5mm a year to suck at hockey is unacceptable.

Goodrow at 3.5mm right after he had an outstanding post season imo was a mistake to trade him the way they did with waivers.

If you look at Mika right now he also sucks and gets paid 8.5mm? I think but has a nmc for quite a few more years. The Rangers are f***ed with their Mika situ and theres no easy way out.

The Kakko trade that just went down well, in a year hes a free agent and tho he has some talent he always finds a way to f*** it up. I dont care Kakkos gone and they got a 3rd round pick and a defense player who maybe can help them though doubtful.

The Rangers right now you can only hope miraculously turn the season around but its oh so doubtful.
Yeah, who really cares if the team makes trades that make the team worse in the present and most likely the future?

This may have been true in the past. But it seems like now people within the org are keen on talking...

If you want to make a team tighter and play for each other....start a brawl ! Have a sacrificial lamb jump right into one of the Dallas /Canes/NJ bench and start swinging at somebody . That would empty the benches ! LOL....geesh it would be fun to watch that happen. .....LOL...and I know it never will .

The line brawls were always good....but we need a good old down and out donnybrook to get the men focused back on hockey and feel good about something before the break starts . Call up the other big kid Roobroeck /and Harpur and let one of them start it ...Rempe does not need any more suspensions .

This seems like a completely reasonable idea. I'm shocked Lav hasn't done this yet.

People that want Kreider to be Captain must really value being the last guy off the ice after a period.

Unfortunately, this is a rudderless ship of fools.
Ah yes, because if you as a fan don't see something happen, it obviously doesn't happen. Kreider can't possibly be a vocal leader and beloved amongst his teammates. He also can't possibly be someone who speaks up to management and represents the team in closed-door settings.

I would say in the recent past this season, Kakko does nothing for the team. Nothing. We need defense. This new guy plays defense, which is our major weakness. So yeah, though not a trade to be excited about, I see the logic. Kakko would be a free agent in a year, and at that point he'd have grown wings and flown the coop. The real frustration stems from the expectations on Kakko and his failure to meet them.

The players are not pissed that Drury made changes. They are pissed that non-player employees (one in particular causing the most grief) have been discarded overnight due to bullshit reasons that have nothing to do with performance, and that Drury never showed Goodrow and Trouba enough respect to even talk to them about his plans to get rid of them at all costs.

40 years ago they would have solved it like cavemen....now the suits are running things .
I mean, 40 years ago barely anyone wore helmets, you could smoke in the arena (players too), and training camp was for getting back into shape after a summer of fishing and drinking beers at the lake. Times change.
