Do the Leafs get more credit in hindsight for taking the Panthers to 7 games?

lol this is the problem though. it was a worse series because our goalie died. we'd probably have a better chance if he didn't. we also aren't as good a team and didn't play as well. these things can be true simultaneously. An excuse would imply that we believe we'd guarantee win if x thing didn't happen, but in reality we'd just like one playoffs where we aren't being brutalized by a team not getting called for anything while we're playing horrible hockey simultaneously.
The Leafs lost because when Florida ramped up the physical game to big boy hockey the Leafs top four forwards disappeared to the perimeter, especially Nylander and Marner. They were much like the Brave Sir Robin in Monty Python.

Meh, what does credit do for you anyway? Caps got destroyed by Carolina who is being taken to the wood shed by Florida. They arent directly relatable. Leafs and Caps both lost in the second round. Leafs won two more games. Who cares. Wanting credit for a second round game 7 loss kind of sums up the leafs of the last 10 years. The overall summary of their current core is disappointing at best.

Injuries happen.

The Leafs had a 3-1 series lead on Montreal and blamed the series loss on Tavares throwing his face into Perry's knee. Stolarz gets his brains scrambled on a puck to the helmet followed by a shove by a forearm...same result. They cannot hold a 2-0 series lead.

Contenders fight through adversity and find solutions. Pretenders cannot find the willpower to win and instead focus on blame and excuses.

Once the Leafs move beyond softness, weakness, fragility and a void of character...maybe they'll share in some playoff success.

Exactly! Every Cup champion has had to fight through adversity including injuries and bad calls. A small portion of Leaf fans who are highly vocal act like their team is the only one that suffers any adversity and use it as an excuse every year.

oh that hurt..

you must be a tough one in the school yard...lol
Not to meant to hurt, that's silly, simply expressing my feelings. I love the habs losing streak and will continue to enjoy it. I think there's a good chance they will struggle to make the playoffs next year. I enjoy hab fans so cocksure that their progress and success is inevitable, typical of hab fan conceit. Matters not what you or I post here - but 32 years and counting is quite enjoyable. Ole Ole Ole Ole
