Do the Leafs get more credit in hindsight for taking the Panthers to 7 games?

What does this "credit" get you? Nothing. They got embarrassed in two critical games.
The “credit” gets you not blowing up the team for nothing. Anyone quoting game 7s and playoff losses are easily refuted by the similarly illogical “they didn’t make the playoffs for 13 years before this outside of a shortened season”

Leafs fans are demanding blood and to demolish their actually decent team to become a probably very bad team with virtually no hope for a future.

whatever credit is as related to the title of this thread. what this credit can be spent on in the rewards store is unknown to me

I just find it funny, after 9 years of this they deserve "credit" for taking the champs to 7 games. They were supposed to be that good. The goal was the cup, not take the champs to 7 games. Maybe if they were still all rookies, then that "credit" gets us something.

They need change.

they would have been up 3-0 or 3-1 though. they still might have lost, but there's no certainty that they would have. it's baffling how many folks are glossing over the fact that the starting goalie was nuked

Oh yes, the starter who has, at last check of career stats, worse stats than his backup in the playoffs in his career. Less games, too.

They need change.
Brother they’ve gone through literally 100 roster members, like 6 goalies, 3 head coaches, 3 general managers, and now the president was let go. They’ve changed quite a bit. This is why I said it’s similarly illogical to say that the 2014 Leafs team needed change because they missed the playoffs in 2011 when they’re literally different teams. The leafs have had like some of the highest number of trades and signings over the past decade. The problem is no development, no system, poor management and coaching.

solid cherry picking, allow me to dismantle:

Stolarz had a .926 playing behind the same team that Woll only managed a ~.905 behind

Stolarz also had better playoff stats this year playing behind the same team

No, the issue is assigning a significant amount of the cap to 4 (or 5) players who are regular season darlings who wilt and disappear once the pressure starts to go up in the playoffs.

I don't think bringing up career stats is 'cherry picking'. That's pretty broad.

You may also want to not reference Regular season stats when talking about playoff outcomes, as they literally do not matter. If you want to get pedantic, Solarz went from a .926 to a .901... not an amazing look. He was, by definition, below average. Woll was worse, but neither looked amazing.

stats trying to prove to me that the East is just as good as the West?

experts such as Bruce Boudreau have already been on air last week confirming that the East is much weaker than the West. are you arguing with expert Bruce Boudreau?

Keep moving the goal posts lmao First the stats arent good enough. Then the weather. Then the fans. Then the taxes. Now Bruce Boudreau :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:Everything has proven you wrong, so Ill just leave it at that. No point anymore. Too much winning by everyone here.

You ABSOLUTELY have a horse in the race, it's any team facing the Panthers. That's clear as day, don't kid yourself. Run along with your nonsense, the Panthers goalie department spent a whole year with their former backup, they know his weaknesses. The Leafs weren't Stolarz away from winning that series. Ottawa took them to over time twice in their first time in the playoffs in for.ev.er.

Yep, Panthers are durrrrty af,only dirty team in the NHL ever.

We decimated them in all departments, and he wants to talk like Stolarz makes a difference, after 30 minutes of gameplay. Its pathetic now. People should learn to take the L and move on.

Sorry that your opinion is invalidated by the experts paid to discuss the sport on national tv. West > East and it’s not up for debate lmao

Sad you talk as if Stolarz got hurt at the end of the 3rd period in Game 3, and not 30 minutes into game 1. Like they just automatically are gifted games 2 and 3. Its getting pathetic now.

Yawn. Im done with this nonsense. Just like everyone else. Just take the L and move on.

Lmao, I love Bruce, but funny name to yank. He's a perennial winner for sure.

See below, the majority thinks this way. You don't get flowers for maybes and wouldas, couldas, and if onlys.
No, absolutely not.

They were shelled at home in a Game 7 and laid an ostrich sized egg in Toronto to make the series 3-2 in favor of Florida after starting the series up 2-0.

I do think my view would be different if Toronto lost in OT in Game 7 or was going back and forth with Florida the entire series without getting pantsed at home twice. But that didn’t happen.
