Do the Leafs get more credit in hindsight for taking the Panthers to 7 games?

The numbers say Toronto got blown out at home in game 7 and blew a 2-0 series lead. Stolarz isn't even that good lmao and they won game 2 with Woll. You act like Stolarz went down and the Leafs lost every game after that. Stop it already
no, that's a strawman. It's just factually irrational to look at the chasm between Stolarz and Woll and conclude that the series that went 7 might not have had a different outcome

are there numbers to back up that claim? because mine do.

you're really not contributing anything of substance. I'm starting to believe that you have lost
My evidence is Toronto sitting at home watching Florida dominate their way to a cup. And the same thing would have happened to Stolarz. Have a wonderful weekend.

Can’t wait for the opening night ceremony when they hand out the “Credit in Hindsight for Taking the Panthers To 7 Games” Rings

Maybe a bit? I feel like that's less of Toronto being a tough opponent and more of Florida really found their groove in that series and have been rolling since. Once Toronto tied the series up it was no longer close.

The cause for criticism is isolated to Games 5 & 7.

Lopsided defeats like that at home paint the clearest picture that we are multiple moves from contention, but moreover, mismanaged opportunity and timing to put our club in a better position.

I personally love how they hated our team all series but the offseason plan is to sign all our UFAs, AGAIN.

Hope springs eternal and we are just a few months away from another, this team is different argument in every thread.

Congrats on being 5th best in the league, huzzah!

The Leafs are this era's Sharks that were stuck behind the Hawks and Kings in the 2010-mid 2010's, good team with a collection of a good core but their stars don't show up and they can't break through.

That being said, probably yes? They're playing in the most brutal division the East has every year, they would probably be in the ECF yearly if they were in the Metro probably but sucks for them.

Yes they get the total package. They get more credit in hindsight. They get all the handshake line respect. They get to plan the parade. They get to restock their second hand jersey shop with some fresh items. Straight from the backs of previous owners and then kept on ice. Oh man do they ever get it all.

No. The same core has blown plenty of series against teams who went on to do absolutely nothing.

Carolina was always going to struggle against Florida also and I would argue Florida is playing at a completely different level right now than they were the rest of the playoffs.

This is a great regular season team, but can't establish themselves as a great playoff team. They need to make significant changes in the offseason and I think they will this time.
