Do the Leafs get more credit in hindsight for taking the Panthers to 7 games?

Sure, if it makes people feel better to give them credit for losing in the second round. Credit where credit is due. Congrats!

No, Carolina is just built even worse. Their defense and goaltending is bad and they don't even have a star forward to make up for it.

The Leafs had their own issues.

I think Florida has gone into the Carolina series as a well-oiled machine. That game 3 vs the Leafs turned things on its head and they have been running at full tilt ever since.

The one thing to the Leafs credit is game 6. They did well there against a primed Panthers team, so perhaps they are better than the Hurricanes.

Considering how badly Carolina is getting destroyed, do the Leafs get more credit in hindsight?

(Disclaimer: I don’t like the Leafs)
Yeah, suuuuuuure.

Wouldn't put it past a Leafs fan to claim that to make their question seem more serious and genuine

Fully believe that if the Leafs were in Florida's position they would be doing the same to Carolina
They squeaked by Ottawa.

2 of their wins were OT and a third was a one goal win. And after going up 3-0, it took them 6 games to finish the series off.

Hardly sounds like a track record that promises a dominating performance against a team with the same record as Ottawa.

Not really. They are just the team that got Florida humming. When you play a game where the shot attempts difference is the worst all year after 2 periods in the whole NHL and it’s a a game 7 at home you don’t get credit for anything.
