Longterm the Avs are f***ed. No A, B or C-level prospects, no developing young players. The core is just getting older and worse. No viable 2C. No 1st, 2nd or 3rd round picks til 2027 (lol). Cap is tight.

Maye they should be a lil bit concerned, ya think? Bednar has been owned by DeBoer and the Avs have been downed 2 years in a row in a Game 7 and had a hat-trick scored on them in said game. I think each club has a VERY healthy RESPECT for one another.

Dallas a Colorado aren't "scared" of really anyone outside of the Central other than Florida. They play completely opposite of one other, and Dallas would have a hard time playing up to their size.

I think it came down too, the fact, that the Avs couldn't sign him and rather trade him for something rather then nothing. Hes just too good to have someone walk from them in free agency. Avs got roster player in return who has 55 points in 49 games, so it wasn't like the Avs got downgraded. I'm not saying this was the right thing for the Avs to do. I'm just saying this was their thinking when the trade was made. But if you ask me who is a better player, I would take Rantanen over Necas any day of the week.
