Not sure about that. And not only because of all around crap quality broadcast. Again zero cohesiveness on ice.
Not sure about what exactly?

They're clearly playing better and were dominant throughout the period. If it wasn't for the Slovenian flukey goal and an early whistle at the end, it would've been a 2-0 game right now.

About us being better than yesterday? Slovenia simply is even worse than Austria and all our offensive success again is individual efforts from somebody.

Norway 9-5 Austria

It’s always good for a team to score nine goals, but to give up five against Austria is just way to bad. Goaltender having a very bad game, and some sloppy play from a couple of our defenders. Can’t play like we did today against Belarus on Thursday , if we do then we are ****ed.

Another goalfest on our hands. Third wrister from blue line that finds the net untouched on its way.

They were positioned comfortably in the offensive zone for the first 5 minutes of the game. The shot ratio was 9:0. That doesn't come from individual effort alone.

Yes, you can still see some defensive lapses and poor decision-making, but overall they do look better.

I guess we will have to disagree on what we see on the ice. IMO, we don't look as convincing as we should. This is junior hockey and there's no real continuity from year-to-year, but we won this game 10:0 last year.

Also I'm withdrawing my compliment to Kivlenieks.

Last year we had probably the offensively most gifted line-up in the history of Latvian junior hockey, so seeing 10-0 on the scoreboard against Slovenia wasn't that surprising.

We still managed to score 7 today, so I'm not worried about our scoring department in the slightest.

Also, neither Norway, nor Belarus have been 'convincing' so far. There's still 3 teams in the mix for gold and the odds haven't really changed, as far as I'm concerned.

Poland with a huge loss to Ukraine today, that probably seals their fate to relegation this time around. No way they're beating France or Kazakhstan, only chance for Japan which is not impossible, but I actually would like to see Japan to win and be promoted.

This guy, which I think is the official user of Ukraine Ice Hockey is uploading all the goals from Division 1B.

Watching the Kazakhstan-Japan game now. It looks like men vs. boys.

Some of the Japanese players look like 12-year-olds and they're getting roughed up pretty bad against a really physical/gritty Kazakh side.

Watching Belarus overwhelming Italy, and I have to say the stream is flawless, basically confirming that during our games website can't cope with the traffic.

As long as Kazakhstan keeps playing Volosenko opposing teams will always have a chance against them. But hopefully this is the year they finally makes it out of IB level.

Yup, saw that too. That stream morphs into a slideshow at times and it's all because of the bloody Latvians. Seriously, even the servers can't handle us, we just don't belong in DivIA.

Offensively Japan looked decent, especially on the powerplay (better than any Avs PP I have seen). They could have easily had two goals if the bounces were going for them. Decent team, but defensively they struggled.

Kazakhstan though is embarrassing, there is no way how a team this big and skilled win by just three goals. This should have been a 5-0 win with the shots at least doubled. This is nothing against Japan, but how Kazakhstan should be a lot higher in any division for hockey.

I have to say though that it's a pretty weird way of overwhelming your opponent.

You are aware, that my post was made after first twenty period, right? And those were the only twenty minutes I saw, so I have no idea what happened in last 40 minutes.

Really embarrassing for Poland when you consider they might be dropping from Div 1A to 2A in matter of two seasons.

I could've told you the same thing when you replied to me earlier. :)

I only saw the last 20-30 minutes of the Belarus-Italy game and it was pretty much even the whole time. In fact, Italy had a number of prime scoring chances and the Belarusian goalie made a couple of crucial saves. They could've lost points if it wasn't for him.

Croatia defeated Iceland 6-3

Matija milicic with 2 goals

Croatia tied for first depending on Spain outcome vs Australia

Good to see a nation like Spain among the leaders in their group, got to think Croatia wins that group though.

2 early penalties in a row for Latvia and Belarus scores on a 5-on-3 powerplay. :shakehead

The game evened out after that and Latvia took the initiative late in the 1st, but failed to capitalize.

Latvia 0-1 Belarus after the 1st.

If Belarus wins this one, they're a win away from promoting to the Elite division next year. The last time they played there was 8 years ago back when Kostitsyn was on the team.

Too bad they're not going to win today.
