Buffalo Bills Divisional: (3) Baltimore at (2) Buffalo; Sunday 1/19 @ 6:30 PM ET, CBS

2 PM would have been better for me (I'm going to South Africa next weekend), but obviously, it isn't about me and I already have DAZN (inadvertently forgot to cancel it) so I guess I'll be up 1:30 AM to 4:30 AM SA time.

Bills traded up to get one. Chiefs traded up to get one. Ravens traded up to get one.

Steelers literally could've drafted Lamar Jackson, but drafted Terrell Edmunds instead.

There have been numerous opportunities for them to draft one. The one time they decided to draft one was Kenny Pickett, which was like drafting EJ Manuel in the first.

Ben also won a SB without him. He had plenty of years with Big Ben, prime AB, and prime Bell to just get blown out in the AFC championship.

Mike Tomlin has a huge say on the roster & who they draft. That's common knowledge. He has the most pull in that organization. It's his roster. Not one that was just given to him without any of his input.
3 teams that found a QB by trading up. They not only were lucky to find franchise QB’s, but future HOF’s.

Ryan Leaf. Jamarcus Russell. Trey Lance. Zach Wilson. Justin fields. Josh Rosen. Trubisky. Jake Locker. Christian Ponder. Matt Leinhart. Brady Quinn. EJ. Johnny Manziel. Josh f***ing Rosen. Cade McNown. JP Losman.

Wanna go old school? Dan McGwire. Dave Wilson and Chuck Long. Andre Ware who won the Heisman in 89 and was out of the league 3 years later. Heath Shuler - went 3rd OA in 94 and was out of the league 3 or 4 years later.

I can name dozens of QB’s who should have or could have but didn’t. Finding a franchise QB is the hardest thing to find on the NFL. The Steelers didn’t have many options. They’re in a weird place. Not bad enough for a rebuild and an early pick, but not good enough where they’re 1 or 2 pieces away.

That’s on Khan. Not Tomlin, who may have some say behind closed doors but he’s certainly not the decision maker. Just like McD isn’t here.

So my two big takeaways was:

#1. Being able to run against an elite defensive line.
#2. Milano being effective as a spy and in coverage (and against the run)

I think this is the second big game (the lions being the other) we have shown that we can run the ball and stop the run. Given, Lamar presents problems that Denver doesn’t, if we can keep them off the field and keep our defense fresh, we are obviously going to have a better chance to beat Baltimore.

Denver has a better defense than Baltimore does. Hopefully we have a similar performance against them.

One big talking point this week will be that Bernard, Milano, and Taron Johnson missed the Ravens game earlier this year, Rapp went out mid-game, and the depth DTs are completely different now than they were earlier in the season.

It will be interesting to see if that makes the big difference that it should.

EARLY weather outlook for Sunday. COLD. We will see what Phammer has to say/add this week.

A healthy defense going into the divisional round? That sounds so foreign to me.

I'm intrigued to see the tape in Milano. Did he dominate? I didn't have a good vantage point to follow him closely.

I wouldn't say that he dominated. But, it seemed to be his best game so far this season. So, if he's peaking now, that is huge.

I think Milano is finally starting to hit his stride. You could tell when he first came back it was a struggle to get into mid-season form. I think that's why they played him as much as they did in the regular season. He looked fantastic yesterday. I just hope he can stay healthy because the Bills will need him to be on his A game going forward. The Bills D with a health Milano playing at his best is a really good defense.
