Bummer that Douglas is already 30. Thought he was a bit younger and we were kinda locked in there for a couple more years. Benford being 24 in two days is NICE though.

Crazy how we can swing and miss badly on Elam, but then hit a homer on Benford.

Maybe Elam is (or will be) startable but he's just not needed right now..
And for that reason I really hope they don't give him a big long term extension. He's older than White, for perspective.

Elam/Benford remind me a bit of the draft we took McCargo high and Williams day 3.

Credit where credit's due, Rodgers is having a strong game - easily his best of the first 3. The Jets will be a threat if he plays like this the rest of the year.

But New England's ends are showing an embarrassing lack of football IQ right now. The first couple of times you go inside and Rodger's just escapes to the outside you can say you didn't know he still had it in him. At this point in the game it's pathetic.

Also, Christian Gonzalez is a terrible tackler at corner.

I mean, it’s the Patriots. They look pretty awful. He’s going to face a lot of better defenses than this throughout the year.

The Bills had plenty of bad o-lines during the drought, but I'm not sure they ever looked as bad as the Pats did tonight. It seemed like Brissett was in a garbage compactor with how quickly the pocket got squeezed and collapsed whenever he had to hold the ball for more than a couple of seconds.

Probably, yes, although New England's defense wasn't exactly terrible over the first couple of weeks.

Chances are that won't be every week Rodgers either in terms of his mobility and zip on his passes. He had a little extra tonight in comparison to the first couple of weeks.

The jets have a very easy schedule. There is a real chance they could be average and win the division. I still have zero concerns about facing them in the playoffs.

I for some reason have watched all three Jets games this year. They have really not looked threatening yet, and finally looked competent against the patriots…who looked horrible
I missed this past one. Regardless, I'm not buying into any hype after a W against what looks like one of the worst teams in the league. Seriously, would anyone be surprised if the Pats finished last in the AFC?

As I said earlier, I believe Rodgers will be in that 10-20 range of QBs. More of a game manager than a game changer. I doubt he'll be able to maneuver his way through a solid pass rush. That being said, I also think the Jets can take a WC spot unless the Bills completely collapse. I'm not buying into the hype of their defense. Their pass rush is going to dry up due to lack of high-end talent, and I don't know of any elite defense that lacks a good pass rush. They need Reddick in the worst way.
Could be an inexperienced coaching staff having a short week for prep.
Cincy has an uncanny ability to look like shit the first two games of every season. They'll get their shit together as the season progresses and be a threat. The good news is their defense isn't the same as it was when we faced them in 2022. I believe we can whoop them this year, but they have an elite QB- so it can easily go the other way.

I don’t see them winning more than 10 games at a maximum. I think they’ll contend for a WC spot but they haven’t looked competent enough yet for me to worry about them for the division. That can change as the season goes on but at the moment I’m not overly worried about them.

My Jets fan co-worker was very loud this morning, as expected. I just told him look, you whooped one of the worst Pats teams I've ever seen, and I remember the '90s, when the Pats were basically 2 free wins for Kelly and the boys every year. You were about 14 yards away from losing to the Titans, with Will Levis actively trying to give the game away. Show up and play like you did last night against an actual NFL team, them maybe I'll worry that you're "comin' for us".

Just remind him, this is their SB or bust year bc Rodgers isn't getting any younger. They'll be right back on the QB carousel once he's gone or ages out. He better enjoy this flash in the pan of having a solid QB because it's nothing but a wasteland after this year.

Is Benford a legit #1 CB in this league? I believe PFF has graded incredibly highly so far this season, but we all know to take their opinion with a grain of salt. I can't glue in on the guy during the game, so I'd love to know what others think. Also, here's a *supposedly* intersting piece on him. I haven't had a chance to read it yet.

Four players were fined for hip drop tackles in week 2: KC's Nick Bolton (this was NOT the tackle that made Jamarr Chase flip out), Chicago's TJ Edwards (on the play Mixon was hurt on), and NYJ's CJ Mosley ate the biggest fines, while somehow they decided that the Rams' Desjaun Johnson's offense was 3 times less egregious and fined him about 1/3 the amount of the others.

Announcer jinx just bit CJ Stroud. They just got done talking about how he hasn't thrown an INT since week 11 last season, and almost on cue Harrison Phillips tips a pass which was then picked off.

In one of my fantasy leagues:

I kept Justin Herbert and Tua was his backup. I placed Tua on IR. Had the choice of Malik Willis, Sam Darnold or Geno Smith.

Given that Herbert was going against Pittsburgh and hurting..........

I benched Herbert and I chose Smith. I may have chosen poorly.

lol at Chicago’s play calling that close to the goal line.

Edit: also surprised at the halftime scores in Hou/Min, Den/TB, Phi/NO and NYG/Cle.
