Discussion: What sparked the season turnaround?

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates
AV has left the lines intact, allowing chemistry to develop. This cannot be underestimated.

Players have been able to adjust to AV's system after struggling mightily earlier in the year.

The above have allowed our top players to start performing.

Lundqvist has regained most of his form.

Getting healthy, dumping Pyatt, and getting Carcillo has allowed us to have four balanced lines. All four lines have been playing well.

Good. Add: Haggs and Calli getting theirs left arms back (see Hagelin goal yesterday), although they still don't hit with left shoulders.

Time and health.

The health aspect is probably important. Staal, Nash and Callahan were all out at some point earlier in the season causing line changes. Now, for the last month, there has really only been the Dorsett injury which has forced a health related line change. And even though Carcillo's restless eyes freak me out, I have to admit he has been a great replacement for Dorsett. The top 3 lines have seen stability and developed chemistry.

A lot of good points here (scoring, stability, system, defensive coverage) but besides Hank getting back to Hank's form the biggest difference has been the compete level, aka intensity, that was raised by the whole team after the players meeting after Pens game. This intensity was missing often early in the season and it was my biggest concern from the coach trade.

Lot of good points brought up, but it seems like the Chicago win is what started them off.

Lundy will give up 2-2.5 goals/ game when playing well.

The Rangers will score between 2 and 3 goals/game for him.

Reason for turnaround?

A)Lundy finding his game

B)Nash finding his game

If either fades a touch we'll see the "same old Rangers (win one lose one)".
