Canada with an opening match vs Belgium...interesting chance to catch that powerhouse possibly off balance, imo

I’d rather them have gotten the Netherlands spot in group A. But that’s just me
Maybe. England would have been a Pot 2 team if Italy qualified and I'm not sure I prefer playing the host nation when you're going to be playing against the team and the officials instead of England. And Senegal is a scarier opponent to me than is Iran... they have some of the best players in the world at their respective positions in Sadio Mane, Edouard Mendy, and Koulibaly. Gueye and Diallo play for PSG as well. They're the reigning Africa Cup champs for a reason. Iran will be tough but I think I'd rather have them than Senegal.

It's going to be hard but they were lucky not to draw against France, Belgium, Argentina, or Brazil. I'm glad they didn't draw against Poland, Serbia, or Senegal in Pot 3 and I was dreading another matchup with Ghana in Pot 4.

And, without looking forward too much, if they make it to the knockout round they play either the winner or runner-up of Group A which should be the "easiest" draw in the knockout rounds.

Yeah I think they are going to have a hard time against England. But second place and qualification for the next round are definitely within reach.

Yeah — I only was thinking of their group. But if they manage to finish 2nd (or 1st?), then any match up w Group A may not be too daunting.

Went up 1-0 on a beautiful strike by Rudiger, conceded quickly thereafter, and then played like they weren't afraid of Brentwood and expected to win the rest of the way, which of course didn't happen. Had a lot of possession but lost shape frequently and they were sloppy on defense. They held the ball for 70 or 75% of the time I think but never really looked threatening and looked really vulnerable on the counter. They basically looked like they were playing the equivalent of a Tuesday night beer league game.

Credit to Brentwood though, they executed really well when they had their chances.

I think it is hard to focus coming out of the international break with everything going on at that club. 2 or possibly 3 defenders already likely out the door, Lukaku outside the first 6 weeks or so looking like someone not in anyway interested in playing there, who knows what the summer will bring.

For the big clubs coming out of the international break is always tough because so many of your team have scattered to the wind and who knows what condition or mindset they will come back with. But for Chelski that is especially true now IMO.

Live by the sword die by the sword though so it always had the potential of going this way IMO.

Whoa what’s happening Arsenal?

(you can thank me when they rally now)….

Barely saw the replays of the 2 early goals as I was ambushed by work, but at a glance it looked like a couple of bad decisions by Gabriel. Haven't seen anything else.

Wrong time to be shitting the bed, with Spurs and others surging.

Well I guess the outside pressure is finally too much on top of normal football issues over a long season….tough to see the players and staff dragged down….

speaking of Chelsea and the whooping we just got…Benzema….is anyone hotter in the world?
