That's a really silly opinion. A team that won 2 cups traded 2 1sts for a player who Dube is a better version of in Coleman. Dube is bigger, faster, has a better shot and is turning into almost as good of a 2 way player. Oh and he's 3 years younger.
He’s now worth two firsts……………

Why would the Flames trade him? A late 1st is horrible value since the likelihood of getting an NHLer at that part of the draft is already a long shot, and if they pan out they're just another Dube anyway but maybe worse.

I trade Mangiapane every day of the week before Dube.
At one point this season I would have agreed. If only because his $5M salary is a bit too much.

But if you watch the guy closely, especially on the forecheck, he comes out of the corners with the puck more often than not. And that is a very valuable skill. Kind of reminds me of Pie McKenzie from the Bruins in the 60's.

I know he can score, but find him a high slot shooter like Esposito was for McKenzie, then watch Mangi's points totals soar.

Yeah, trading low on a 30 goal Scorer is almost always a bad idea
