Disagree. I think Beleskey is the guy Sweeney will want to be taken bu Vegas, big cap hit, appauling production per dollar figure, and still has 3 or 4 years left. If Sweeney can have an 'out' I can't see him passing that up. Vegas wont take Hayes, he'll have to be traded, who does that trade? No idea. Even if we have to retain 50% its still not gonna hurt us, were paying 100% and getting nothing out of him now.

Why even trade him if if the Bruins are retaining a lot of money? Or have to give up valuable assets to move him.

Just bury him in the minors, accept the cap hit of about 1.2 million on the books, and cut your losses.

If, if, the Bruins can get Schaller to the 70 combined games mark (he needs 30 more), they'll have 10 forwards who meet the expansion criteria, they must protect 7, must leave 2 exposed.

There might be a market for Hayes from teams that only have 8 forwards who meet the expansion criteria and need 1 more. But it's hard to make that move until Schaller reaches the 70 combined games mark, in case he gets injured and won't be able to get there.

Carlo should be number 1 on this list hands down. There couldn't have been anyone that could've seen him come in so young as a defensemen and do what he's done, which is the title of the thread.

Rask, we've all seen great streaks of him in the past so it was possible of him doing it again. It has been a pleasant surprise though I will say.

I'm sure i'm a bit in the minority, but I'm not nearly as high on how Chara's been this year as others. I believe a lot of how he's looked on the ice is so much more on how great Carlo has been. Not to say he's been bad, just don't believe he should be on the list.

Pasta, well this goes without saying. I hope we have a serious find here for many years to come. I feel like I need to jump out of my seat every time he gets the puck. I really felt like he could turn into something, just wasn't thinking it would be quite yet.

My list:

1. Carlo/Pasta
2. Rask

I think a lot of the praise stems from what many of us expected from him after how bad he looked at the end of the season last year. He was just not there with his skating and got exposed a lot (in fact, he looked positively McQuaid-like to me there on many nights).

So, by Chara's career standards, I don't think he's been great, but his desire to work on his skating and at least make himself solid again has been good. I myself thought that we might have watched the inevitable and unhappy decline of a once-great player to the point that I wondered if he might not consider retirement. So, to see him performing as well as he has based on that, I would consider him a pleasant surprise.
