Did more than Matthews all tournament.

Did he? They both had 3 points. Matthew Tkachuk had 3 points in game 1 against Finland and disappeared for the rest of the tournament.

Auston Matthews was by far the best US player in the final game.

Kreider was not injured he was sat because he was bad all night and every time he was on the ice they got cratered.

Idk man I hated Connor coming out to begin with. They kept trotting Hughes out there mistake after mistake all tournament and buried Kyle Connor and then scratched him

Knowing Tkachuk possibly couldn’t even finish the game makes it feel like a massive f*** up by coaching.

Matthews was the best player for USA tonight and the last goal was on Fox for chasing the puck carrier behind the net which you learn not to do in pee wees and Matthews had to leave his coverage to cover for him.

Matthews was puck watching and left the best player in the world alone in the slot. Blame Fox all you like but the danger was not Marner in the corner.

I don't think the Tkachuk brothers did themselves or their team any favours by acting like asses - both on and off the ice.

I guess you either love them or hate them.
They are still young men, and they let emotions get the better of them. I think they will learn some lessons from this tournament. I see USA better prepared in 2026. Also with iihf, there won’t be any fighting which is a good thing for the tkachuks, they can focus just on hockey

No.

Austin Matthews did by choking in OT. One thing to be robbed by the goalie on slam dunk goals, another thing to snooze and leave the best player in hockey all alone in front of the net for eternity.

I agree it's not good, but when a team is thrown together for a 4 game tournament, things like that are going to happen.

Canada was giving up lots of high danger chances in OT as well.

It seems to me in the NHL when a team gets a new coach with a different system, it often takes a couple dozen games for the players to settle into it.

Yeah, Canada barely won in OT against a team that was effing banged up. I mean, enjoy the win, but holy crap this isn't a gold medal or even a proper World Cup of Hockey. It's a random tournament the NHL put on, take a chill pill.
I didn't think I could relive the moment of Glee from last night watching McDavid dagger your team. But your ridiculous copium has given me a new wave of euphoria.

Thank you stranger.

I am very, very far from a Tkatchuk fan, but don't we usually call an injured player that still wants to play in a very important game someone full of heart?

That can only be true to an extent.

Beyond a certain point, playing while injured becomes detrimental and selfish. In an NHL game maybe it's more likely to be a positive because the player who would suit up for you is a 13th forward. Not so here. It could have been Tage Thompson - who is a legit top line star player.

He's a Stanley Cup Champ, when was Canucks last SC win again?
Didn’t you just hurt your own point with this? You were talking up Hughes in that he could have been the difference last night but then at the same time ripped him for his team never winning.

Matthews looked like a clown with that defensive positioning in Ot lmao. He put more pressure on Fox than Mcdavid.

Now he needs to improve his thinking skills. Why on earth did he leave McDavid wide open and with all time in the world to pick the perfect spot. Obviously didn’t connect his brain with the compete and tenacity centers.
That’s selke Matthews baby. The worst defensive player to ever get a nomination.

Fantastic comment. Take a seat Tkachuck brothers.

He got his staged fight and the group chat though.
Boy, losing sure looks good on the Tkatchuks

The Tkachuks hurt any team they've ever played for.
wtf are these comments? Matthew just won the Cup.

Should he have played? Probably not, but he barely played, they were down hughes and McAvoy, and still took Canada to OT.

But congrats to Canada.

Lol love the "we don't care copes". Cope harder this is a generational group for the states and generationally bad group of d and goalies for canada and usa still couldn't get it done. SAD

Got to love the charts. No goals from a goal scorer and lost his man (McDavid for crying out loud) on the game-winning goal but he was somehow the USA'S best player.

When charts say one thing but the results say another the data is flawed. GIGO.
