Yeah, Canada barely won in OT against a team that was effing banged up. I mean, enjoy the win, but holy crap this isn't a gold medal or even a proper World Cup of Hockey. It's a random tournament the NHL put on, take a chill pill.

Bro, Canada barely f***ing won in OT. Get off your high horse with donkey posts like this, he did his best.
Yes it's Nintendo where the finals are 8 3 or soemthing. Go look at the Olympic gold medal games. They're usually tight affairs.

Good to know you expected a 6 0 beat down or something.

You're calling him a worthless influencer, but his trophy cabinet speaks for itself.
I'm saying he ACTED like an influencer. And I never said "worthless". Also I never said anything implying that he hasnt won anything. I was speaking about how he acted specifically during this tournament and this tournament only.

Quit the bullshit.

I don't blame Tkachuk. He's a player and he wants to play. I get that.

I put that on the adults in the room. You barely played him in the last game and you barely played him tonight. You knew he couldn't go. It's the responsibility of the coaches to tell the guy no.

Kyle Connor for Kreider was worse from Sullivan and the whole Jack Hughes is a center fiasco makes me a bit anxious having Sullivan on the bench in 2026.

Every line Matthews was on this tournament was dynamite. Beyond weird shit to clown Matthews for not scoring in 4 game span. He was arguably the best US forward besides Brady in the whole thing lol

Matthews only played 3 games also, had 3 points, including 2 in the final game. Eichel played all 4 games, no goals and 4 assists and everyone says he's been great. Sometimes people just love to hate a guy.

People are upset he didn't score the GWG and singlehandedly carry the US to a win though.

I couldn’t wrap my head around why they chose to dress Kreider over Kyle Connor. Kreider shouldn’t have even been on the team and they dressed him to ride the bench.

So basically, they shorthanded their forwards by 2 dressing a hurt one and one that they were just going to sit. Should have been Kyle Connor and Tage Thompson out there and Tkachuk off injured. I respect his desire to play and win but that was a waste. I’m not even sure what they planned to do with him, a PP maybe..

And far as dressing Tage Thompson goes, they should have just f***ing brought Tage Thompson.

Again, that's on the people who are supposed to be managing this team.

Him, Keller and Robertson will make the roster in 2026. Kreider, Nelson and Trocheck won't.

He f***ed up on the GWG, it happens, but he was all world all tournament long and probably buries that OT chance 9/10 times you set him up there. Binnington made an amazing save, he deserves kudos as well for it. People just have a hate boner for the Leafs and their players. Kinda funny people are ignoring Marner made the pass to McJesus from what I've seen in post game comments.

If he really wanted Kreider out there for whatever he wanted him out there for, then take out Nelson or Trocheck. Taking out Connor f***ed up the lines.

Also, if you want Kreider in the lineup, then play Kreider. Like, nothing annoys me more when coaches shoehorn a guy into the lineup and then play him 5 minutes. Did you f***ing want him or not?

AV used to drive me f***ing bananas doing that shit with Tanner Glass. He'd scratch everyone and their grandmother to get Glass in and then play him 30 seconds.

The only rationale for Kreider I can come up with is that they didn't want Matt Tkachuk to play the net front on the powerplay and possibly f*** his injury up even more but you're relying on power plays PREGAME is one of the most foolish decisions ever and of course, the hockey gods told them to f*** off and they had 0 power plays in said game lmao. Sullivan can't make these dumb decisions next year

Only played 5 minutes this game. Was clearly carrying an injury and played anyway.

Tkachuk can't do this bullshit where he sits on the bench for half the game in Italy next year. If you remotely feel like you can't play, pull yourself out. It's not a NHL playoff game where your talent will be sorely missed, it's a best on best tournament for a reason.

Matthew is a drama queen and I'd expect nothing less from him. Brady is a different beast, great mix of hands and physical play.

Could have been a different game if they played Kyle Connor

Looking at what Matthews did on the overtime goal, I'd say that it's not Matthew Tkachuk who cost Team USA.

Marner to McDavid to win it.. Canada's high end players showed up this tournament, the US's didn't. That's ultimately what cost the US.

Getting nothing out of Tkachuk when he sat on the bench the whole Sweden game and they f***ing KNEW he was hurt is dirty business.

Ok, in the NHL, if a guy can't go and you lose that spot, you're missing out on your 13th forward. It's probably not changing the outcome.

Team USA can take out a guy that's hurt and replace him with an all-star.

Tkachuk didn’t hurt his groin from fighting Hagel, don’t be obtuse or disingenuous.

How do you know he didn't? Why's he fighting if he's already injured? After that fight, he was invisible the rest of the tournament.

He missed the following game, and barely played today.

He wasn't able to finish that game after the preplanned match in the group chat.

It's funny he did all this planning with 2 other geniuses jt Miller who fights the biggest guy on the team and Brady who will only fight the smallest.

Then Matthew gets beat up and can't even finish the first game Vs Canada.

Guess it's the ole Mike Tyson saying "everyone has a plan in the group chat until Brandon Hagel punches you in the face".
