The idea might be to extract as much value on Robertson as possible. If they've decided they arent going to pay him the big big money, then its wise to move him now rather than next year.

The Stars also have Matej Blumel waiting in the AHL and probable ready to make an impact. He had 39 goals and led the AHL i believe.

The Stars have no one in the AHL ready to touch a tenth of his production up and down the ice.

Yeah, but in that scenario you either trade for NHL ready players or current players on steal deals.

Something like Rasmus Andersson would make a lot of sense for Dallas.

Either way, 13th+ for Robertson requires the "Plus" to be something better than 13th.

During his show: Donnie and Dhali, Dhaliwal dropped a juicy bomb saying he is hearing Jason Robertson's name out there as someone that has been made available via trade.


For those that dont know, Rick Dhaliwal is a media member based in Vancouver. He is highly connected especially with player agents and is known as one of if not the most reliable people with sources. He has broken the news of many signings and trades before it became reality.

Pat Brisson is Robertson's Agent...Brisson has been on Dhaliwal's show many many times.

The segment started with Dhaliwal encouraging the Canucks to trade for Mason Marchment but then drops the bomb that he is hearing Robertson is the one thats available for trade.


Robertson has 1 more year at 7.75mil AAV and then he will be getting paid next year into a possibly 10+ mil contract. He still has 1 yr left of RFA when this contract expires.


Perhaps Dallas doesnt want to commit the major major money on Robertson and they want to trade him now and get ahead of it.

They also only have around 4 mil of cap space with only 16 players under contract.

Said Willander wasn't going to sign and the relationship was fractured, the same day Cam Robinson said he likely gets signed within a week, he was signed 8 days later and in fact is the only guy given any tidbits but only on prospects and he works for the team.

Said that JT was getting traded over Horvat, a week later Horvat was gone
He also said JT wasn't willing to sign long-term.
He said Hronek would ask for a trade if he didn't get north of 8.7.

I could go on and on but my point is he's a loser like his partner who literally throws shit against the wall hoping something will stick.

He likely heard this from Friedman if he heard it at all.

You constantly say this about Rick having inside info with agent's when the truth is they have a few agents on the show on a regular basis, who from what I've seen say nothing that isn't already out there.
The only agent who liked to gossip was the agent for Kuzmenko and other Russians who would use Rick to pump up his clients.

I would hesitate on that from Van's POV. Maybe if Jrob was a Centre.

I'm not sure what Dallas' preference would be for an RD.

Willander is 2 way- stay at home every situation Dman. The type that will eat 25 minutes a night without breaking a sweat. Will need a year or 2 before being a legit top pairing.

Hronek is an elite puck mover with a booming clapper. His best defensive attribute is puck possession and breaking out. Top pairing RD making 7mil long term.
