According to Dhaliwal:

He has been told that the Canucks will make one final push this June to try and re-sign Brock Boeser who is set to be a UFA on July 1.

It is believed that the Canuck tried to extend Boeser before the trade deadline. Offer was reported to be around 45 million total money which was rejected by Boeser. Canucks then tried to trade Boeser at the deadline but the offer's were low and interest around the league for Boeser was minimal so they opted to keep him.

I wonder what the Canuck's final offer will be? I dont think they will want to go 7-8 years in term. I'm expecting something like 6 yrs for 7.75 mil as their final offer.

Boeser is coming off a 25 goal season and a 40 goal season 2 yrs ago. He doesnt turn 29 yrs old, until next year.

I personally think a team will be willing to give him 7 yrs 8 mil per season, The Canucks offer wont be the most lucrative so Boeser will have to decide trully how much he loves being and living in Vancouver and sign there for 5-8 million dollars less.

Canucks need to get him signed. 25-30 goals and one of the youngest UFAs and they are dreadful in the top6 F department and keep losing big names

Just stop with the instability. Might be some hurt in yrs 5-6-7 but this notion that Lekkerimaki or Garland Sherwood or a UFA is gonna replace him without as much or more pain is absurd

Imagine this is about gauging the market and seeing if they could get a bigger fish ala Marner or Ehlers unless they want to force the rebuild. His agent wants 56million 7x8 given the Konecny deal. Could probably settle out at 7.5 x 7 = 52.5. I wouldn't be afraid of that. By 30 its like being at 6.4m which is appropriate for a borderline top line RW

Why the guy is almost AHL material at this point.Any contract he signs will not age well.

Didn’t JR say his club needed to get faster on the wings? That’s not exactly Boeser.

He rejected 45M so their final offer is gonna be 46.5M?
Clubs know when they have a long time player, who is a fan favourite, that they are going to not te-sign. The club floats that they are making an effort to sign the player. They will float numbers and try to minimize the backdraft from the fan base when the player leaves.

Boeser on a good team could be scary. Canucks have no play drivers so it’s a bad mix. Without Miller he doesn’t have anyone to set him up.
Garland is a player driver.....so is Chtyil ( 5on5 Corsi rel is like 6.8!). but yeah he's always hurt. and yes, Vancouver needs MORE playdrivers no doubt

I'm not surprised. I think JR and Allvin are getting desperate after looking at what is available and their limited trade assets. A Boeser contract they don't want might be better than nothing at all. I could also see them cave to Suter.

they hardly care enough to do this. "pr" moves like this aren't really a thing.

Well there's EP who when healthy is one of the better ones and has had success with Brock in the past.
There's also a good chance we add another top six Centre.

Basically I think the roster will look much different and for the better by July 2nd.

With Boesers being a good deflector I think Hughes is the biggest influence on boesers goal scoring but miller obviously helps too

Guess I remember the details wrong about that trade then as I thought it was a late first for rental Brock.

But either way it ever happened.

I think it was reported as KK + 1st for Brock and one of our top prospects (Lekk or Williander).

Allegedly, nobody else offered anything that included a first. Had a 2nd on the table from FLA but that got pulled when they got Marchand.

Honestly not sure how hot the market will be for UFA Boeser, would prefer the Canucks to take a wait and see approach on this one.

Well I never heard that one and that would make zero sense for the Canucks.

The Cones were in their Rants mode last minute and it was thought that Brock going there as a rental for their first was in play, the other parts are just ridiculous deal killers for the Canucks to say the least.

Hard to say as Brock isn't worth a 7 year contract but there is lots of extra money out there so he will get some kind of deal, I just don't think it will be in Vancouver and especially not long term.

I wonder if Rutherford’s comments about not having much cap space left on July 1 to sign free agents (because of trading for players) is a message to Boeser that coming back on July 1 isn’t an option?

The Good News: Management is circling back and preparing another offer.

The Bad News: Not because they have a plan, but because they just realized the UFA market costs are going up, up, up. But being disrespectful of your own players in public is never a good look, to either maximize their value in a trade nor to resign them. They're still baffled by the revolutionary idea that to re-sign even your own UFAs, you might need to offer them a deal that isn’t insulting.

Watch them make a last minute failed attempt to match his other offers after he has already committed to leave.

This is the Zadorov story all over again.
