Rumor: Dhaliwal: Canucks and Boeser have had 0 talks regarding new contract/ If nothing before TDL, they will move him.

Boeser really just isn't very good. Too slow and too often behind the play to be a consistent contributor on offense, basically a deluxe Tyler Toffoli. Could definitely still be useful as a top 9 player but I wouldn't think about going much above a 5x5 kind of contract for him.

This is not a core player. I don't think he ever was.
You think Boeser is a top 9 player? what team has a 40g scorer (or even 30g scorer) on their 3rd line.

Ridiculous take.

Always a good laugh seeing 31 team fans shit on Canucks…

I could rip every team too but I just come here for the laffs and to see if there are some rumours posted.

Happy hockey day in Canada

Petty, and im not sure if its still on going but Canucks owner and Dallas owner hate eachother. I dont actually remember the last time the 2 teams made a trade , or a big trade. If this beef is still going on, i dont see Van trying to help Dallas win a cup.

Lol stupid i know. If they are passed it then fore sureDallas would be a great fit for Boeser. Having 1 shot game breakers like Boeser and Robertson for the playoff run would be lethal.

What could Dallas offer.... Bischel untouchable but thats exactly what the Canucks would be looking for. Top 4 Dman or prospect that can slide into being a top 4 soon.
Dallas might be willing to trade Bischel for Rasmus Andersson.

Minnesota has like 13 mil of dead cap coming off the books. I expect him there.
Father is jumping from 900k to 8.5 mil, kaprisov will need a new contract after next year, Gustavvson will jump from 3.75 mil to whatever after next year. That 13 million capspace will get used up quickly. They do have zucs comming off after next year to help. Rossi needs a new contract, likely the Boldy contract so that makes his caphit go from 900 k to 7 mil +. So basically the Rossi and Fabre contracts raises will eat that 13 mil dead cap space up

I can't decide whether it's just media coverage or media coverage, but it doesn't seem like many Nucks are happy or care to put in any effort at this point.

I don’t disagree with the assessment as a deluxe Toffoli. He’s a good finisher and in slower games can be a strong board presence, but struggles with higher pace and can be reliant on others to set him up. Still, both are clearly top 6 players and 5 million isn’t the going rate for those guys with the cap going up. Toffoli got 6 million for 4 years last year at age 32. I don’t think I’d want to go over 7.5, but he’ll almost certainly get more.

Boeser for a 1st round pick and a prospect.

Whoever can offer the best quality version of that package gets him.

Should be an easy deal.

Can someone explain the logic of the Dhaliwal quote in the OP to me? Canucks haven't had any negotiations, but if Boeser doesn't sign they'll trade him. Kind of hard for a player to sign if there are no negotiations or the team doesn't make an offer. Are the Canucks waiting for BB to come to them begging for a contract?

Age seems inconsequential for a rental. Would think that current level of play would matter more given that the guy is likely gone in a few months.

Toffoli had 26 goals for the devils last year when he was moved.

The year before he had 34 goals, 73 points compared to Boeser having 40 and 73.

I don't know, seems pretty comparable to me.

Boeser maybe gets the playoff performer bump though. I Don't think Toffoli has been that great in the playoffs in his career

Boeser is a half decade younger. More importantly, he's in his prime. A better goal scorer with better playoff production. I hate the Nucks, but Boeser easily returns a 1st as a rental.

How? Brock loves Van and wants to stay.............this is from the same playbook management used to pressure EP to sign last year. It's blatantly obvious. Where do you think this rumour came from? Van runs a VERY tight ship.........in general nothing gets leaked unless they want it to.

Yeah, that playbook worked out soo well in regards to Pettersson right? Signed big money, long term and instantly seemed a different player.

When an organization acts like this, much like Chris Drury with Rangers, you lose the room in the end. Same thing it seems is happening in Vancouver right now. Ironic.

Now you have a club with rumours that one of Pettersson/Miller could be moving, Demko isn't happy, and Boeser doesn't seem to know where he stands. Really good stuff here. Top notch stuff from management.

I don't think Boeser has been properly appreciated in Vancouver. I've felt there to be a layer of uncertainty regarding his future in Vancouver several times now, which is crazy.

They should 100% lock him up for 6-8

Nah, Vegas is going to end up with Miller.
After they trade Jack Eichel, right?

So Vancouver going on a rebuild now? Looks like they will trade everybody at this rate.
No, we're not rebuilding with Hughes/Pettersson entering their primes, it will be a re-tool if anything. The time for that conversation was after the Horvat trade, but management went a different direction.

Boeser value will be largely determined by the quality of players available. If he is the top tier rental, likely a 1st + b Prospect or even a b+ Prospect. If there are a lot of players like him, it could be a 2nd + b Prospect. Hard to say till closer to the end of Feb.
