That's Levi just before the Panarin shootout stop. Cool shot of him.

Funny when they ask him about things and it's clear they didn't do much of a dig on Levi's background to know he's played with a bunch of the WC guys including being WJC teammates with Krebs, Quinn (and Cozens who isn't there) or his teammates from the Olympics.

Depends on the guy but I think jumping from 40ish games to 65ish games isn't always the wall it's made out to be. Especially if you have 5 months to prepare and the S+C staff are guiding you. Levi seems to be a preparation guy and I'd bet he'll be ready. We'll probably find out next season.

I think the wall has much less to do with the games played and way more to do with moving from a school sport to being a professional. You can get pretty burned out both mentally and physically doing something all day everyday (e.g. practice, videos, workouts, etc) vs playing a college sport.

The nutrition and travel is also something that most kids in college or juniors just aren't used to. Dealing with the jet lag, changing sleep patterns, and having to worry about your own nutrition is a whole new world for most kids. Sometimes I think back to how many Ramen noodle packets, cereal bowls for dinner, and grilled cheese sandwiches I had through my early 20's and shudder (grilled cheese was considered 'cooking' back then)

The college schedule has much more of a routine to it. With most games being played as back to backs on the weekends and practices occurring during the week. The NHL schedule allows for much less routine as they can go from stretches of 5 games in 7 nights to 2 games in 7 with practices being sporadic as time allows while also getting off days intermixed. Travel as you also mentioned is a huge change for them, as most college travel involves shorter road trips.

It's half the reason I got a job in a restaurant lol.

I agree there's a lot of moving parts involved. My hope is that Levi gets to spend the year in Rochester and the Sabres get a legit #1 but my point was that the experience and ability is different for each person and it's not quite the conversation ender that some think it is. Like the comment above yours. Folks can seem so confident in their opinion with so little information available to them. It amazes me. Lol
