I watched him fairly closely because I agree he has been quiet lately. He didn’t look slow and he did do some good things in terms of board work and maintaining some possession but his hands are a bit off to me and he isn’t meshing with whoever he was playing with. Given how often he is hit knocked down and fouled I think he’s probably getting tired both physically and emotionally. It can’t be easy for a kid to have to carry the hopes of an entire franchise and lose more often than not and your “security blanket” is still out with a lower body injury.

I recall a couple of those moments last night as well. Looked to me like he was looking to pass off a controlled entry and had no good options. He wasn’t in a great spot to outflank the multiple defenders te times I saw that. Hard to say if he’s off half a step or just having bad vision for a game. He will bounce back. He almost connected from PZ right at the goal mouth but it was as if he wasn’t ready for the hard pass. That surprised me.

Bratt was 10x worse than nico last night. I thought nico was the best player on his line. Which isn’t saying much

butcher was also awful. Our two softest and under sized players are no shows against certain teams.

Yeah but so was the Zacha line outside of Zacha. And seney and Bratt were bringing Pavel down. I do not like that line dynamic.

Our fourth line also got owned by Pittsburgh. It was the zajac line, special teams and goaltending that won us that game.

Not the Bratt from last night. He had Zacha wide open in front of the pens goalie for an easy 8 foot pass and it was inaccurate, no pressure on Bratt either.

I want Nico to be more of a driver offensively. He needs to be more of a focal point, especially with Hall out.

Now the devils have to wait all the way till feb. 19th for they're next EASY win having the pens on the schedule might hurt they're chances of the #1 overall draft pick however. the senators kings and blackhawks might pick over you as a result of beating up on the penguins =lol

Wherever the Devils are in the Draft is where they'll be in the Draft.
