I love Sharangovich, his shot is no where close to Holtz's and that is by no means a knock to him. Shot's like Holtz's come around once every few years. This man got went top 10 purely because of his shot.

I don't know, Shara is beating NHL goalies from the slot and beyond, his release is lightning quick. It will be interesting to see.

this year has obviously sucked overall, but at least they know what they have in a lot of these guys now

legit top 6 forwards- Hughes, Hischier, Bratt
legit middle 6 forwards- Sharangovich, Kuokkanen, Zacha

hopefully add Holtz and Mercer in there and maybe trade or sign another guy and lets rock

Did you see the reaction on the bench to his shootout goal? Team was stunned that he just skated in and ripped that past the goalie before the goalie even reacted.

I like the he scores in all different ways... from a distance... from the low slot... from sharp angles... one-timers... dirty goals.

That being said, I'm hoping Holtz is a level above that :)

Yeah his is good. Wait till Holtz is 23 and you will see the significant difference. The kid has a top 10 shot since the McDavid draft and that is without man strength.

Not just losing ten in a row in one stretch, but even after beating the Flyers three straight times we're still ten points behind this bleh team lol
COVID detonated our season and we've gotten some horrendous goaltending and special teams. Our team is better than our record and that it's based on mostly under-23 players is very promising for the future.

I'd like to believe it but I'm in full show me mode, they have to do it when the games count next year and not just have a random surge after we're way out of it like post-December last year or the last few games this year. Like someone said a few days ago basically all of our insane theories aren't gonna be proven or disproven until October.

What does that even mean?

Power is essentially the consensus #1 in this draft and basically every analyst is saying he is a potential #1 DMan

I think the reason so many have him at #1 is because he's seen as the "safe" pick in the most wide open draft maybe ever.

I'm not reading too much into what this means for the future but it's nice to see some wins.

I have to say that Nico does so much for this team. He's very much in the Toews mold - the whole group feeds off him.

That’s how you close out a game. And to see the young Devils lead the way all night, makes me very optimistic about the future, starting in October.

The release on that shot tonight was beautiful. Jack t'd it up for him perfectly. Sometimes he will sweep the puck back and forth to let it go but not that one. I thought it was his most impressive finish of the season because it was so totally effortless.

Also that rush by Bratt where he got Elliot down but ended up hitting the inside of the post would have been a goal for the ages if he'd finished it. What a play. Maybe the play of the night despite how it ended.

Finally Nico's finish on the short hander was sneaky good. The no look release very fast. Elliot was watching Shango after last night. Great play by Nico.

All season we've been in the 10-15 range at 5on5 in the possession and xG stats. We've allowed 17 more goals at 5on5 than expected and we're -19 in special teams. There are very specific issues which have lead us to having far more losses than the flow of play has earned.

Yup, Nico has an underrated shot, and it sure is nice to have such a dangerous shooter on the other side of the 2 on 1.

I agree that Holtz's shot is special, though.

You still need to see it next year, but the forward group looks pretty damn good to me. You do wonder if Fitz has the gears turning on moving Johnsson if he's not selected by Seattle.

Special teams have been an issue, but is it because the coaching is bad, because the coaching just can't coach it this year with limited practices, or because the personnel we have are bad at it? We won't really know the answer until next year.

I’m so pumped about Sharangovich scoring again that I forgot about Bahl. I didn’t get to watch the entire game but he looked ok from what I watched. That’s pretty damn good for someone playing in just his second NHL game.
A lot of positives to look forward to. The next few years will be very good to be a Devils fan.
