Solid win, would wish they could've avoided giving up a goal 5v6, but otherwise it was a great 3rd period. Chicago was under 1 xG for the entire game until they pulled the goalie.

Markstrom still doesn't look good, they have to be seeing this - that said, does seem hard to choke away a lead this big so maybe it won't matter vis a vis the playoffs.

Also there was that year the Pens were without prime Crosby/Malkin in the playoffs against the Lightning and took them to game 7. That same Lightning team went to the ECF and took the Bruins to game 7

So it’s not impossible that we could beat the Canes. Then I could see us beating an inexperienced playoff team in the Caps and potentially making it to the ECF…

That palat SHG was really needed. I know it didn't get the GWG award... but that was a monster moment, Bratt created that play out of nothing and a perfectly setup drop for palat to gain an extra few strides before his shot.

Assuming everybody wins their games in hand on us, just for fun.

The Islanders are still 5 points behind us (they’re 9 points behind us overall) the Rangers would be 7 behind us and the Blue Jackets would only be 4 points behind us.

Montreal would be 2 points behind us, but they aren’t relevant to us unless the Metro teams start piling up wins. They can pass us in points without passing us in the standings.

So that’s just assuming that all those teams win their 1-3 games in hand, which they probably won’t, but just for arguments sake and because there’s a new heater every week down there.

Everyone currently out of a playoff spot would be at least 4 points behind us right now.

Then it's beyond selfish for him to play and even dumber by Keefe + company to ACTUALLY let him play when we have capable goalies. This isn't the Schneider era, he's also a dumbass and letting it possibly bother him for 25-26.

Don't need that much. 12 points and the Rangers can't catch us even winning out. Islanders would need 22 out of 24 points since we hold the tiebreaker and they would need 96 points.

With the way things are going, 8 points should do it.

I get it, but Lazar is gonna get his reps in. I think we should just accept that for this season and deal with a retool later.
