Not on this team. He has match the opponents on most nights, which is something Marty has done more than not surprisingly. No one here is saying that Marty is better than Cory but to insinuate that there is a wide gap between the two is disingenuous, unless you're a stathead.

Tonight's loss is not ALL on Brodeur I never said that. But he was a large contributor. Also, a goalie can steal a win or cause a loss for the team occasionally. But he's not going to be the only deciding factor in most games.

You are correct in saying that the goalie is a specialized position, because he can only control how many goals are scored against but has almost zero control over how many goals are scored for.

I think you are blinded by your love for Marty. Your arguments are not logical.

I see where you're coming from and I don't totally disagree.

I don't have blind love for Marty, but for some reason or another the guy has brought in the majority of points we needed to stay afloat. I just don't see a clear cut case to put Schneider in all the time over Marty, because if the goal is to get points in the standings and win, we haven't been doing that with Cory.

People were screaming to put Cory in and to retire Marty after the first 10 games, then the opposite happened and Marty carried us through a streak of 7-1-2.

There is just no clear cut argument for Cory over Marty and also we are ignoring the team issues. Goaltending is fine, there;s only so much these 2 guys can do. Also, they will hit hot/cold streaks and have bad games, such is life.

This is what I've been trying to say. You only have to be better than the other team night in, night out to be successful. We need to find ways to win and not be 1 dimensional. So far that 1 dimension has been being overall discombobulated and poor, thats not a great position to be in.

Our team needs to find ways to win. The BJs did it tonight and thus deserved the win. Even if their last goal was questionable and dirty, they won and we didn't.

A win is a team stat. Marty isn't winning those games, the TEAM is winning those games.

That's like saying if we had a guy scoring a goal per game, but we were still losing because our D sucks and lets in more goals, we should scratch the scorer since he's not "getting wins". This is a ridiculous argument.

Or we have to keep Cam and Tostito in the lineup for perpituity because went 6-1 with Cam in his first few games, with his all-important five minutes a night.
