Can't believe we are almost here.

Hope the team stays on a roll to make for an even better might.

Yup - coming up quick. When this date was announced, it was hard to imagine the team would be in a playoff contention for this game.

Really been liking MSG's segments on Marty during the 2nd intermission in the games leading up to this night.

I expect at minimum Stevens, Daneyko, Neidermayer, Brylin there from the old group.

Also expecting to see Madden, MacLean, Terreri, Weekes, Clemmer, Moose, would like to see Holik and Arnott as well. Souray maybe (really good friends)

For staff and stuff, Conte, Lou, Lemaire, Robinson, someone from the MacMullin family, Vanderbeek. Edit: Gomer and Big Gio would be cool.

My long-shots to be there are Gretzky, Bettman, Campbell. Big name, afterall

Anyone important I've missed?

He lives in Saddle River - would be surprised if the commish isn't in the house.

2 weeks from tomorrow!

Coming up quick folks.

What's the floor price on StubHub today, still $143?

Well, it's $170 with fees. Should always turn on the 'show prices with fees' option in the filter link to get the actual price.

It's going in Championship Plaza. Wish it was inside the arena, more people would see it.

Yes, people who park in the VIP garage and other side of the arena don't really go to the Champ Plaza side.

And, I wonder how they plan to secure it from being defaced by Rags/Philly fans?

It should be inside The Rock.

I could easily see a rival fan using a can of spray paint.

true.

on a similar note seeing as the game is vs the oil……they are taking the gretzky statue to the new arena next season….i guess there would be no reason to leave it at the old northlands (which will still be in use for other events)

no word on where it will be last i read

a bird has little choice as to wear it ****s….to compare it to one of the most disrespectful things a person can do is asinine.

and ya, some people care about these things.

What I meant is you shouldn't be surprised or shocked that someone with a brain of the size of a bird to spit on the statue. It will happen.

Getting stoked for this trip. Wifey and I leave in just over a week. We'll be traveling quite the distance to be there. Over 5300km (3300miles for you American folk)... thank god were not driving.

Can anyone give me some pointers on the best way(s) to get to the game? I know most of you probably live in NJ, but we'll be staying in Manhattan for the duration of our trip. I'm a small town guy so I figure planning ahead is the way to go.

If anyone has any insights, you'd be our hero. Please send me a PM and we can go from there.

Thanks all!

Lots of teams have statues outside, I'm sure there are protocols.

Yeah if someone wants to vandalize and get themselves thrown in jail (after being beaten up by whatever Devils fans see them doing it) doing something that will eventually be painted over/fixed anyway that's their problem.

Statues are generally meant to be seen by the public at all hours.

Why almost all go outside. If people vandalize them and get caught they get arrested for vandalism and it gets cleaned up.

Most people enter the arena through the plaza side. As others have said, it should also be visible to all after hours. The plaza is the most prominent location.

Anyone defacing it is risking a lynch mob and/or arrest. The plaza is usually swarming with security and police on game day as it is. Not concerned about vandalism.

Is there any place after the game to go grab a drink..or 10?

Inside The Rock: The Goal Bar, which is accessed via the lower concourse or Suite Level-1.

Outside of The Rock immediate area where many fans go: Edison Ale House, Taste Venue, Dinosaur BBQ, Indigo Hotel Alva Tavern
Outside of The Rock closer to Newark Penn Station where some fans go: Bellos Pub
Outside of The Rock a few blocks away where some fans go: Hells Kitchen

***There is also a bar inside The Hilton Penn Station hotel, if you're staying there.

Google them all for websites/reviews/etc.
