Really hard to see the Devils managing to pay more for a C replacement than the Avs would be willing to. If a guy reaches waivers who is intriguing, they could go for it, otherwise I think they will just stick with Dowling for the time being.
NJD needs a 4C rn.

The avs need basically anything, which means they could very likely fill a different hole

The Avs need everything but they could really use a center. The Devils need a 4C but unless Lazar is out for the season, he will be back eventually. So it doesn't make sense to get a temporary player for that spot that's going to be filled anyway, and one where people are already drawing up plans to get a better 4C at the deadline, unless that player arrives on waivers (which, given how stingy the waiver wire is these days, seems unlikely)

NJD should still get a 4C even if Lazar is coming back. He's been at his best on the wing.

They can do that at the deadline, not now when prices are likely to be extortionate (and the Devils don't have cap room for a 4C without moving Bastian, which doesn't seem like a worthwhile trade to me).

Wonder why devils youtube privated it, did someone's costume cause people to get mad?

anyway. Noesen dressed up as Darla and his wife was Nemo. The wife had a plastic bag over her body and Noesen was shaking it.

I added a bit dark-ish humor with my post.
I think that may have played a part as there are those that have no idea who Darla and Nemo is, and all they see is a man shaking a woman who has a plastic bag over her body.

yeah...I can see why that could be misconstrued as something more sinister even though if's F**KING Halloween. smh.

I’m pretty surprised the Gudas hit hasn’t drawn more attention and a potential suspension. Perhaps the lack of the first caused the second.

But it’s a textbook dirty clip that would normally warrant a suspension and caused a major injury.

If there is any rule against hitting a guy that’s already engaged that’s where it would need to be enforced

I mean, he hit Lazar. If he hit McDavid or Zib or something it would be different. Cuz that's how this league do.

It’s not the at it’s clipping. Hitting a guy at or below the knees. Doesn’t happen often because it’s actually hard to hit a guy that low. But guys have been suspended for it and that’s a textbook example of when a guy should be suspended for it.

Anyways here was my offseason list of forward targets (mostly middle/bottom 6 guys) and how they've started so far.

3.5 is a solid chunk but god I wanted Trenin so bad.

Also weird note, why is Minnesota not playing him on the PK. He's one of the best in the league there. Perhaps if they used him their PK would not be at 70%

The Boqvist snub by Fitz is baffling, especially considering he knew Mikey was a goner (which in and of itself is pretty disgusting on Fitz part).

I didn't like we let Boqvist go, I don't like it even more now. He was cheap Swiss army knife player. Not good at everything but not bad.

I wanted Trenin too, we preferred to sign Noesen. He was on my list too. May be we should save the money for one defenseman but no one knows.

Yeah I'm happy with Cotter and Noesen as the bottom 6 wingers, just taking a look back.

The centers is what I'd have wished to bring in a Turcotte and given him like a 2 mill x 3 deal.

Boqvist move was always dumb, it was never about the actual player (kinda was) but the year and half they were bumbling around trying to find a good bottom 6 when they had in it 22-23.
