Yea I’m not gonna get too much into off-season stuff now, but fitz certainly has a lot of big decisions on his plate. How Bratt and Meier get handled. What happens with Holtz heading into next season. How does the D shape up given Graves/Severson are UFA, and you have Hughes/Nemec knocking at the door yet still seemingly a gap to bridge there. And will they be content with the goaltending as is with 2 of the 3 current guys
Still can't believe we came away with Meier without having to give Holtz away. *shaking head in disbelief*

Holtz isnt a player you trade in the off-season because even if he struggles again next season, the teams that are interested in him still will be as he'd only be 22. Also when you consider his shot is exactly what we need and he isn't a smaller guy, you owe it to yourself to try him out in a top-9 role first. His worth is more to us than we'd get in trade; as opposed to, say, Sharangovich for example

Well we might have lost tonight but our prospects atleast had a good night. Utica winning 4 to 3 with Nemec getting an assist. Michigan winning 11-1 with Hughes having a 5 point nighy , Casey had a multi point game as well. Josh Filmon scored in his WHL game too.

Let's hope we bounce back tonight in our heritage jerseys.

I wish we could get Timo going. I think we should try putting him at RW which is where he succeeded in SJ. Put him in a position to suceed. We need to really finalize the roster going into the playoffs. I know certain lines are dominating rn but I would experiment just for the hell of it. I would try something like this
Tatar-Nico-Meier
Palat-Hughes-Bratt
Boqvist-Haula-Mercer
4th line of whoever
This could work because it puts Meier at his natural RW position while keeping the Nico/Tatar chemistry. Palat can be the defensive winger for Hughes who also gets to keep one of the few who can keep up with him in Bratt. Haula is tailor made for 3rd line center & has chemistry with Boqvist, putting Mercer with them can make them a big threat. I really feel this would be the best way to spread out our talent. Let's see it happen Ruff!

Interesting. Ive never once had a cup of coffee but ive had iced coffee or other assorted, caffeinated colder drinks. I just cant do hot drinks - by the time I drank a hot chocolate freshman year of HS at a football game it was practically just chocolate drink. About the last (and only) time I had a hot drink

Ive also never had kids
Well I happen to know three that are on eBay as we speak. Low reserve too. I’d definitely bid early and often if I were you.

6 points- 4 goals (a game winner) and a SO winner. Some may call this as “going”..

He was doing a little too much at first, but he has settled in nicely. He passes the eye test. He hits like a truck, drives the net, dangerous shooter. He was robbed on a few good shots as well.

What’s our magic number?

Any sort of win tonight gets us in just like last night no matter what but depending what Florida does against the rangers who play at 5pm we might already be clinched at some point during the 1st intermission or 2nd period or we might only need to get 1 point if Florida loses in ot/so.

I just don’t even know what we would trade him for. What is our area of need? Goalie maybe but otherwise the organizational depth he provides is as good an asset as anything else we could get in return.

His slow development also opens up the possibility of signing a good goal scorer to a cheap contract down the line.

If the Rags beat them in Regulation, I refuse to acknowledge that.

Only a regulation victory against the Sens tonight will I consider the Clincher.

Was tired and went to bed after the second

At least Jack got something going at the end, some good shots there. Hopefully it's something for him to build on the team as a whole has to be much better. Those defensive breakdowns in the first were killer. Not capitalizing on back-to-back powerplays in the second was pretty awful too.

Win tonight!

From the now-closed GDT :

The neutral zone coverage wasn't to blame for that goal. The Devils forced the play wide and Siegenthaler contained the puck carrier to the wall with Bahl supporting, which was played fine. The breakdown is Timo letting the cross-ice pass through the slot and Bratt floating and puck watching while Cozens walks in behind him.

5 guys with their backs turned to the net front and weak side is a recipe for disaster. That's youth hockey shit.

The Devils transition offense is also partially to blame. You can see Timo and Bratt are more focused on gaining puck control and turning the play up ice than defending.

I wonder if Ruff pointed this picture out to Bratt, saying that he needs to stay with his man?

I can't imagine he'd be happy with that.

I mean...even if the Devils regained possession, the closer man to the puck would be Timo and the other Devil at the far left(I don't know who that is).

They could've then got the puck to Bratt as his man would not be able to keep up with him up the ice.

"Attention to Detail" is still a thing.

he'll go to the team offerring the most money. He's not leaving a dime on the table.

There's no reason to say this. I can't imagine Damon going anywhere that looks like they're going to be in the toilet. That's a wider range of teams than people think, but it still rules out a bunch of places.

I don't think he'll be back here, obviously.

Severson is far and away the best Dman on the team
Yeah 1 out of every few games. We still lack a real #1 D man but our defense group is actually good. Dougie is a top pair guy and we have Marino , Graves , Siegenthaler and Severson all as top 4 d men. It's a good group but I wouldn't say Severson is still the clear cut best of the bunch.
