I've been disappointed by Bratt this year. He was slightly below ppg last year. This year the team has elevated to top 5 in scoring, his linemates have shown a lot of progress, yet here he is below ppg again.

Hopefully Allen is in tonight so @Bleedred can do his proper analysis.

And hopefully our goaltender shines.

Edit: OH, thought this was the GDT lmao. Enjoy the spam.

I’d rather play Allen than Montembeault this year. In past years I wouldn’t have said that.

Allen was undefeated against us until we beat him in November and blew them out.

But he also played for the Blues and I think last time might have been our first time playing him as a Canadien.

But we still struggle against the Blues and their big bodies. Same with all the big teams because we’re so small and struggle with dat size. Same with the Caps the other night.

Never thought I'd see myself posting this, but wouldn't mind if some of the money that was going to go to Jesper Bratt for a raise was used to keep Damon around.

He's definitely proven me wrong of late.

Bratt not so much.

Lol what? If there's any UFA dmen we should keep it's Graves and that's coming from someone who absolutely loves Severson as a player.

Well to be fair, last game is the first he's been on a line with Palat and Haula.

Tonight, I hear, the lineup will remain the same so perhaps he can get it going a bit.

But I agree that even before that, his play had dipped when he was with Jack...but was still respectable....then Timo appeared and it went down the crapper completely.

I would've liked to have seen those 3 continue to gel together (maybe Bratt gets it going again) but Lindy had other ideas.

I don't think you are allowed to just sign a QO in that case - the Devils went through it with Miles Wood this offseason. He ended up being paid less than his QO.

I also think Friedman is wrong insofar as I don't think Meier gets 85 percent of 10M if somehow it went to arbitration - he'd get more - but that's never going to happen.
He would get what the arbitrator decides is fair, which would probably be well under 10M.

I doubt it comes to that point though.

Who ever posts clips and picks thumbnail pictures for NHL must not be a Bratt fan.

I think that video was from trade deadline day? Or the day after?

It's weird because he did say he's working on it and then he said he wants to wait until the season ends for those things.

Regardless, I would wait until the summer before getting freaked out about it.

As annoying and dramatic as the last two RFA deals for Bratt were.
Maybe there is a sense that Bratt is pressing a bit since he put an offer in front of him? Pushing it off until after the season maybe allows Bratt to just cut it loose from here on out.

i would not do that. one of the possible saving graces if we lose bratt would be the chance that holtz can replace some of that offensive production. quinn will be a nice bonus in 5 years when his contract expires but we don’t need that right now

I don't really see it happening tbh. I don't agree we don't need it right now. 2nd LD is going to be vacant. Expecting Luke to come in and grab it right away isn't exactly what I'd give as a reason why we don't need one.

And you wanna talk about not needing something. We don't need Bratt at 9m+ when our top 2 lines are doing fine without him.

Hope I'm wrong, but it really could cause the negotiations to go south. Like think about it. If you were Bratt and you decided to take a hometown discount and then some new guy comes in and makes more than you despite not being THAT much better, would you be happy? I think Bratt tries to get as much as he can and Fitz might not cave.

Whatever the situation is, I hope Fitz doesn't pull a Lou and just make a decision and act on it, whether it's re-signing Bratt or moving on.
