I like the guy, just not what he was.

I can just see what will happen :

He'll have a hot (for him) start in the first month of the season and then he'll cool off and just do next-to-nothing the rest of the way.

we already know that Tatar has chemistry with Nico, and Bratt can basically play anywhere in the top 6.

He can skate, big body to get pucks and crashes the net. Also provides protection for those two

They're probably gonna try to eek out wins via their superstar superstaring, defense and goalie till the TDL and then splurge on a guy or two via the 2nd's they have, we gotta stop think of them as the same style Devils as the past few years because obviously this lineup won't work with that. Also Dougie from the backend produces like a forward too.

Last years team, with no depth and all injuries were only 5 goals short of being 9th in goals forced

With a strong D and a normal injury season their offense will easily be in top 10

Well, with Palat's contract that never stopped us from doing anything, if this is all we could do to finish out the roster, so be it.

Between Nico, Timo, Bratt, Jack, and Dougie, Luke, and Nemec on the back end, I'm not really that concerned about scoring goals.

Assuming Tatar recaptures his chemistry with Nico and Mercer rebounds, there is no reason why they can't keep up with them production wise as well.

That third line has the ability to contribute too. 4th line won't score, but that's not exactly a unique thing around the league

I actually like this to the alternative of re-signing Toffoli, which possibly could have happened had we been a playoff team and not had to sell him off at the deadline. Though I'm slightly skeptical he was ever in the plans beyond last year.
